@@sayanbhowmik4535 . Hi Sayan , thought you from Turkey , Iran or Eastern Europe - based on you name and surname 😃. Now I know Bhowmik have an Indian origin to it. Talk about India - given South Africa's ( SA ) slave history at the Cape of Good Hope from 1652 -1808 ,I'm sure Wade Van Niekerk have some Indian blood running in his veins ( which i do also have ). Reason being : in 1652 The Dutch East Indian Company -DEIC ( the most wealthiest and powerful company at the time - trading in spices and slaves ) set up a half way house at the Cape ( Southern Tip of Afica ) to supply passing ships with fresh produce on route to India them trading in spices and other goods . The DEIC needed labourer's to work on the farms producing the fresh produce for the passing ships and brought slaves from India , Malaysia, Sri Lanka , Indonesia, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, and Angola to the Cape to work the fields. The various ethnic groups ( including the indigenous Khoi -Khoi ) would eventually mix and interbreed including with the white slave masters. Overtime a very diverse ethic group would evolve known as Coloureds(mixed race ) in the Western Cape of SA -about 4.5 million today ( mixture of Asian , White , Khoi , Black ) They come in all different shades from very white to very black and everything in between - about 70% would be Wade's skin colour. I also happen to fall in that group. Now there's a little bit of South Africa history with some Asian connection. Did you know ? The largest Indian city outside India is Durban in SA 😃

Injuries are always marking a certain LIMIT to a physical performance, and seeing he was the only one all around sprinter, he achieved his maximum, the injury was just awaiting......sooner or later he had to have retired, just like everybody else-Johnson, Bolt, etc...-, he did it after breaking all those records, many athletes get injured way before that level he achieved......

Just for the record-WVN was 25 in 2017 not 27 . He turned 29 in July this year. He will be 32 in 2024 at the next Olympics in France - which is not old for a 400m runner. He is on his way back . Watch out for him at next year's world championships in USA. If he stay injury free he can reach his peak again come the next Olympics.

The point is that he was injured with a type of injury that you may have partial recovery from but generally not world beating. Who is faster is Michael Norman - he has had severe injuries but ones that you can recover from. Faster in 100 and 200 and also the 400m world record (indoor) holder. He has a better chance of recovery and has run more 43 second runs than WVN.

I'm a fan of your channel, so some feedback: your closer could be better: "As always, until next time." Something stronger could be like: "Thanks for watching, run free!" Maybe run a competition with your audience, get suggestions. Cheers

Well he ran a 44.3 in Zurich a few days ago. Clearly getting back to that old form.

Wayde in good health is able to run 42.97. If he didn't slow down 15-20m before the line in Rio 2016, his WR would be under 43.

I would love if you would make a video about the greatest Biathlonist of all time Ole Einar Bjørndalen he straight up is the GOAT and it is undesputed noone is close to him.

The what if scenario makes no sense for him, because he accomplished the mission of BEING THE FASTEST HUMAN TO GO AROUND THE TRACK. What if is for those who did not accomplish the ultimate goal but had potential to maybe do it. He did it. Van is the current ruler of the entire track

Jeremy Wariner and Alan Webb would make good candidates for future “what if” spots.

Such a pity. These really gifted athletes only come along a couple of times in a lifetime, just look how long Michael Johnson's record stood. Still it was a privelege to see them both.

Why did he decide to play Rugby...

If the Olympic podium pattern had continued where 2008: 1) LaShawn Merritt, 2012: 1) Kirani James, 2) LaShawn Merritt 2016: 1) Wayde von Niekirk, 2) Kirani James, 3) LaShawn Merritt Then it should have been.. 2020: 1) Michael Norman, 2) Wayde von Niekirk, 3) Kirani James
