What I love about this series is it realistically portrays many different psychological disorders. Anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction, and many others. But not just that, it also shows the people learning to deal with them and growing as people and healing from their pasts

And not doing the typical "haha magic, depression begone". I've read so many stories were the portrayal is good but they just... disappear as if it was that easy. I love how stormlight takes time to show those problems, show that it's not something that goes away because you're a "hero"

I'll be honest, I teared up. Stormlight Archive changed my life, I know I know, it's sounds so over the top but it really did. I've read The Way of Kings during most difficult time in my life. I was in such a dark place after the lose of loved ones, completely hopless, depression was creeping in the corner of my mind. And then I've met Kaladin Stormblessed... yeah, those who know, they know. No other character, no other story ever, resonaited with me as Kaladins'. In his doubts and struggles, I've saw my own. His pain was main pain because I've felt the same way! And then came his victories, his strength, his will to fight, to never give up. If he could pick himself up so cou,d I right? And I did. That book, changed my life... It's unbelievable how nine words can change everything, Life before Death, Strenght before Weakness, Journey before Destination. These words are imprinted on my mind and soul. And yeah #Bridge4forLife

*Bridge 4 Salute* One of my favourite quotes in a later book: (SPOILER) Kaladin said. "You told me it will get worse." "It will," Wit said, "but then it will get better. Then it will get worse again. Then better. This is life, and I will not lie by saying every day will be sunshine. But there will be sunshine again, and that is a very different thing to say. That is truth. I promise you Kaladin: You will be warm again."

Kaladin DEFINETELY resonated with me from the beginning but I remember reading RoW, reading a story about a dog wanting to become a dragon and I just needed to take some time. The most important words a man can say are, “I will do better.” These are not the most important words any man can say. I am a man, and they are what I needed to say. The ancient code of the Knights Radiant says “journey before destination.” Some may call it a simple platitude, but it is far more. A journey will have pain and failure. It is not only the steps forward that we must accept. It is the stumbles. The trials. The knowledge that we will fail. That we will hurt those around us. But if we stop, if we accept the person we are when we fall, the journey ends. That failure becomes our destination. To love the journey is to accept no such end. I have found, through painful experience, that the most important step a person can take is always the next one. I'm certain some will feel threatened by this record. Some few may feel liberated This is probably the greatest quote I have ever heard, alongside Eddard Stark's seemingly quote on bravery. Dalinar's arc just hits so hard and its so beautiful. The greatest redemption arc I have experienced

The Stormlight Archive is my favorite piece of fiction. I thought that Lord of the Rings would never be toppled in my heart as the greatest fantasy epic until I started the series and after Oathbringer, I was 100% sold that this is the best that storytelling gets. I have never cried reading a book before until I read the climax of Way of Kings, and then with almost every subsequent title from Sanderson I have read. Ironically, the scenes that really got me to my core are not harrowing and sad, but heroic and uplifting. The books distill what is the best in humanity, and further develop the idea/term Tolkien invented, the "eucatastrophe". Sanderson sets up moments that allow the light to shine through the darkest situations in such a satisfying way because these tend to be linked to character struggles that are deeply personal. To struggle through the pain, find better paths within yourself, and impose them onto the world around you. There are quotes from these books that have shaped me as a person, and who I want to be in my life. They have inspired me to try to be better than I thought I could be. "Honor is not dead so long as he lives in the hearts of man!" "If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man." "I will protect those I hate. Even if the one I hate most is myself." There are so many fantastic and touching ideas in these novels that I can't go a day in my life anymore without thinking on them.

This story change my life for the better, at the time i was reading it for the first time i was struggling with really strong depression, i had thoughts of ending my life and the only thing keeping me going was my need to find out where the story was going. At the end of book 3 when syl says "Maybe is time for someone to save you" i felt like the book was talking to me, next day i woke up and took the decision to start talking therapy. I love every thing this story has to tell and i loved seeing kaladin finally starting to heal from all his trauma in book 4.

Spoilers ahead: I will accept that there are those that I cannot protect. Kaladin's Third Ideal is the one that hits me the hardest, because I too have the struggle of wanting to protect EVERYONE, but I am only one person. So it follows that I realistically cannot protect everyone. Only those within my reach, and those who I actually have the capability to protect. And while Kal has greater reach, and greater capability, he is still only one man, and of course, can not possibly protect everyone, despite his fantastic power.

I used a free credit, bought the book, and got hooked early on. I don't think I shivered so much before. If you're into fantasy and/or anime at all, you should do yourself the favor of reading these. The entire series is just amazing. Do keep in mind that The Way of Kings may not hook you in right away - you have 3 prologues that won't mean much to you until later, and the opening chapters with Kaladin and Shallan have maybe a bit too much worldbuilding and exposition going on. Many people will tell you that the book "drags in the beginning" or "gets going slowly" and depending on the type of reader you are, it may be hard to get into. But keep at it. Once Kaladin reaches the Shattered Plains (it is, admittedly, a couple hundred pages in), you're in for a real treat. And the final fifth of the book - called, appropriately enough, Part 5 - is an incredible, non-stop thrill ride with one the most satisfying endings of any book I've ever read.

Hunter x hunter probably for me the best fantasy of all time, the combat system of Nen is very complex and offers varieties of countless potential. With unique outline characters with their own charisma and introspect of psychopathic characters on the othrr end of human spectrum. Plus the dark continent coming up the only stopping it from becoming the best is the authors health which is not at best currently. No other fantasy might be able to top the Hxh for me not even onepiece.

I can't wait for the day when Stormlight Archive becomes mainstream and I can talk about it with random strangers I see on the street. My favorite characters are the lil bald guy that got thrown in bleach, and the Kholin family. I just love that entire family so much, each individual character, and also their dynamics amongst each other... well, I love them all except for Elhokar, Gavilar, and Gavinor. (Gavinor hasn't done much yet, and doesn't have enough personality yet.) But Dalinar, Renarin, Jasnah, Evi, Navani, and Adolin are just sooo amazing!

I LOOOOOOOOVEEEEED THIS VIDEO I CANT EVEN BEGIN TO SAY OH MYY GODDD. I LOVED how you said that this is a story that people who love anime and manga would appreciate because YESSSS. I only just finished the way of kings, and I hadn't got over it enough to start the other books that I am actually rereading it. I soooo want my friends who love anime and manga to read it so that I can gush about it with them. But the books aren't translated to the language of my country, it's so frustrating :'). Definitely agree with everything you've said about Kaladin, he's a true inspiration, I would read the books just for him., even though I do have a soft spot for Dalinar as well :'). Using fanart throughout the video made the events breathe with life, it was beautiful :'). When I recommend the story once it is translated (soon hopefully :')) to my friends, I'll make sure to remember to make them watch your almost spoiler free video to get them hyped and motivated.

A friend of mine recently started reading the Stormlight Archive (like a month, maybe a month and a half ago) and when I came over he showed The Way of Kings to me, which he'd already finished, and he lent it to me when I came back from a trip, I read it in like 2 weeks or so, and I'm a pretty slow reader. I went on another trip recently and decided to buy the first two books (the first which I've already read and also Words of Radiance). I'm currently around 600 pages in and I started reading it four days ago. I've just gotta say that I'm loving it so far, and it doesn't seem like that's gonna change any time soon.

I just finished Rhythm of War. I honestly don't know how Brandon is able to write such incredible protagonists. I love *all* of them from all of his books. Kaladin and Vin are standouts, but as we learn more about every protagonist, it boosts them to their same level each time. I'm sure once Dalinar and Shallan's stories are wrapped up, I'll consider them up there as well. The guy just knows how to make people you can Connect with.

I just finished The Way of Kings and words cannot describe how I feel. How I feel, diving into and through the pages. "Epic" is a common word used for good fantasy-books. But this book has "epic" written through all the pages. (I once said to a friend of mine: "I can't read it, it's too epic" and he responed: "Don't worry, it'll get even better") I can't remember meeting a fictional person that I can relate to as much as within these books. It breaks my heart, brings me joy and tears. I would always and never recommend the books to others - with the wish to share and the fear they might not understand its beauty.

@@ShinMalphur graphic audio has a separate voice actor for each character, as well as sound effects and music to accent the scenes. Because of this, the narrator also doesn’t read most of the dialogue tags or sound effects. It’s pretty unique, and while it can be distracting for some, it is cool. It is way, WAY too expensive for my tastes though. I’ve listened to a few through… ahem… HIGHLY legal methods, if you know what I mean. And they were good, just not worth the asking price in my personal view. Also, your username indicates you are a man of culture. Nice. Keep quick on the draw with the Golden Gun.

Oh heck yeah. I love seeing people talking about this book and recommending it. I’ve never really been a person to cry when watching movies or books, but book 4 made me cry twice in the same chapter (chapter 80 for those of you in the know) because it was so relevant to my personal struggles at the time and it hit me on such a deep emotional level. I’ve never been that impacted by another story before.

Spoiler for Way of Kings "'I owe you nothing, Kholin.' And his father's voice seemed to whisper a reply. 'Somebody has to start, son. Somebody has to step forward and do what is right, BECAUSE it is right. If nobody starts, then others cannot follow.' ... 'We have to go back,' Kaladin said softly. "Storm it, we HAVE to go back." He turned to the members of Bridge Four. One by one, they nodded. Men who had been the dregs of the army just months before-men who once cared for nothing but their own skins-took deep breaths, tossed away thoughts of their own safety, and nodded. They would follow him." WoK, Chapter 67 These books are full of so many incredible scenes and quotes that get talked about repeatedly-rightfully so. But this scene, the way it was written (and I left out bits), the context of everything that these men have been through... it brings me to tears Every. Single. Time. These men who didn't care to learn the names of the men carrying the bridge beside them, who spat at Kal for deciding to tend the wounded and "burden" them with more mouths to feed... They are willing to give up possible freedom from a living hell in order to do the impossible. To do the RIGHT thing. To do the thing nobody else would do for them until Kaladin came along: protect others. Protect those who cannot protect themselves. (Foreshadowing at it's finest)
