The most luxurious Mercedes: EQS SUV review!

Mat’s finally had a chance to get his hands on the Mercedes EQS SUV!
That’s right, Mercedes’s range-topping all-electric saloon is now available as an SUV, and Mat’s about to see if it has what it takes to compete with class leaders like the Tesla Model X!
So does it have what it takes? Well, let’s take a closer look. For starters, it looks relatively smart from the outside, although it doesn’t have much of an imposing presence for such a big (and expensive!) SUV. It looks a bit nondescript truth be told.
Thankfully though, the inside is super luxurious and more than fits the big price tag! There are high-quality materials throughout the cabin, and it comes fitted with the same hyper-screen infotainment system as found in the EQS saloon. Passengers in the back even have the option to adjust their seats, and there’s even the option to add a third row of seats if needed!
There are two editions of the EQS SUV available, with the range-topper being the 580. This comes equipped with two electric motors that can deliver 544hp and 858Nm of torque. It’ll also shoot you to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds!
Here’s the thing though, the price starts at £130,000 in the UK!! So is it worth it? You’ll have to stick with Mat to find out!

EQS is definitely NOT the most luxurious Mercedes. It ha ONLY AIRMATIC suspension. NO E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL ! GLS is far more advanced in this and MAYBACH GLS is also LUXURIOUS.

There is something about the EQS I can't help but really really like. However the white paint colour really doesn't do it any favours, looks so much better in other colours. Really enjoyed the off road section too.

This is much better looking than the EQS sedan, but honestly looks more like a GLC level vehicle than an S level. I wonder if you can opt to not have a 3rd row and get more legroom in the rear seats?

I would say that it look like a scaled-up GLA - it has more of a crossover feeling than SUV. New GLC looks better than the EQS SUV in my book. GLA is a good looking car, but for a compact crossover, not for a full-sized luxurious SUV

This is one of the best Mercedes reviews I have ever seen. Mat, much respect for that off road route the people from Mercedes America took you on. I would have said, "No, no, thanks, you get us out of here." That was a fantastic route Mercedes America's team chose because it highlighted every advantage in that Mercedes off road design. I'm a Mercedes hating snob but that Mercedes SUV is a damn nice vehicle. Inside and out. Dammit Mercedes, you make your suv's too nice!

Im 7 months late lmao but I remember watching him review the Tesla model S Plaid in LA, and he drove north on the 405 through the valley from the Sherman Oaks area; When I watched that I went out with my bf and we drove the same route. we drive a '22 model Y. For some reason, Mercedes has forgotten that once you go over a certain price point customers care more about how the appearance of the vehicle makes them feel than anything else, so styling a vehicle at this price in order to prioritize range is just stupid. These people have more than enough money to have fast chargers at their homes, and value image and projecting status over all else, they'd happily take 30 miles less range for a more imposing look. Trying to be efficient is for people who have to manage their costs (aka poor people), the customers that can afford these vehicles don't want to project the image of someone that has to spend carefully.

Mat keeps bringing up the "weird noise" when braking in some of his reviewer cars. That's because both the break discs and pads are brand new. Every new car does this until the breaks are "broken in"... (My car did this for a bit as well, then it went away after about a week.)

I'll be honest , I'm not big on electric vehicles because most are doing the same thing. Since no grill needed they all tend to be bland. Rear ends tend to be bland as well. This one i really like. They put character in the grill. The rear no exhaust but at least a little styling. I love the interior and was really impressed with the off road capabilities. Not hardcore but capable if you need it. I like it..

I actually think the exterior styling looks like a million bucks. Especially the rear for some reason - it looks so elegant and expensive. The profile is a bit Mazda CX-9, but at the same time it has a presence on its own. And the interior is just impossible to match. I really think this is going to be a huge success but it is rather expensive.

You also get much better software on the tesla , the mercedes screen looks like sh*t and its confusing as hell . Also some people prefer minimalistic style , mercedes is full of rgb lights , too many screens etc .Obviously the interior quality is better for mercedes , but tesla has improved their quality in the last 2 years and its not so bad .
