Can you imagine how good that feels to this little one. Those knots and mats so tight, it is a wonder there weren’t any bruises on his skin. Has to be depressing. At the end he is like a changed personality from earlier.

I'm a groomer too and I really appreciate watching you.. I graduated from the South Carolina School of dog grooming years ago.... best thing I ever did. I used my grooming skills at a veterinary clinic and this was a very common occurrence for us. I lovingly named it peal a pet to release them from feeling the way they and I'm always thankful if there's not something underlying and I know you know what I'm talking about 🙏🙏🙏🙏. I was also a veterinary technician for 20 years before I became a groomer and that helped me with my success..Thanks for sharing because I'll be honest with you, I had quit grooming for a few years until I started watching you and it reminded me of myself. The yellow around the eyes is normal with this breed; Pekingese dogs have a lot of eye boogers. They are REALLY picky eaters. By the way they are often mistaken for Shitzhus but the difference is they have a much less hostile demeanor and they look like a pug face when they are shaved.

If a dog keeps shaking his head, it can cause bleeding in the ear flaps, which leads to hard lumps at the ear tips.

Ear shin is very thin and quite vascular. Lots of shaking their head because of ear itching, infection, etc can lead to a ruptured vessel in the thin ear skin. It can bleed quite a lot and blow the ear up like a balloon. When it does the fiber in in the blood thickens the skin. They must have surgery to split the ear flap open,drain the old blood out and scrape off the fiberin thickness. I’ve seen the vet shows on AnimalPlanet do the procedures.
