Professor Bellmans, may I get your thoughts on something. I twisted my ankles when I was young while playing badminton, and as a result, walked on the outsides of my feet for the past 20 years. Overall, this did not effect the quality of my life, except for the fact that I could not use a bicycle. The linear up an down motion of pedalling impacted my knees painfully. Approximately 2 years ago for some unknown reason I began to walk more on the inside arch of my feet. The cause remains unknown and unaddressed. My arch was always high and continues to remain so, though maybe less than before. So my question is this. Could the change in my ankle position and the lessening of my arch be considered in the same category as the problem you addressed here? Many of the symptoms you have described, I have experienced. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the insights. I suffer with each of the symptoms described and have inward facing kneecaps... however, I also have very high arches and do not have flat feet. Almost the opposite of what you're saying causes Patellar endotorsion. Is that possible? and any recommendations for someone in this scenario?

Sometimes people with high arches present symptoms that are more common of a flat foot. Look up the term "false flat foot" which means you have high arches that are so flexible that they collapse when standing but probably reappear when you sit. I have this issue so the advice normally given to flat foot people tends to be more fitting for me than the advice given to regular high arched people.

... as a German Biologist - strangely, we start to sense PAIN - when it is FAR too late to prevent Damage We encourage actions - that create permanent damage then we need Surgeons to cut out damages and insert artificial stuff that damages the body ever more perverse... this is human Nature -
