Another excellent vlog James. I live at Scarborough and know all the places you've visited in your coastal journey . Still find em enjoyable. Lived here 70yrs and still cosider myself lucky to have so much on my doorstep . If you stop off at Robin Hoods Bay check out the stream that runs onto the beach alongside the access ramp to the beach. It used to be used by smugglers and if U dare to enter the tunnel it takes you under the village. Just make sure tides going out if you go in. Enjoy

We started visiting Yorkshire two years ago stayed at different places around a twenty mile radious of Pickering for two to five days even day trips loved it so much we moved here from Cheshire October this year. Cheaper cost of living in bills, independent shops everything is well kept there is pride in the appearance of everything. The people in the village we moved too have been so welcoming and in a short period of time made friends. We live between Thornton le Dale and Snaighton, on xmas eve Runswick bay is full of locals, families etc walking on the beach, Whitby is well worth a visit👍

I'm really enjoying these little snapshots of places I've never even HEARD of James. The perfect little video. A couple of unassuming little communities..."lost in time"...but with proud traditions, and loads of history. The fisherman's jumper thing was something I've never heard of?...which is a bit embarrassing for someone who's spent much of his life sea fishing and studying local history. So...there's ALWAYS some new little "nugget" to learn! Thanks James ☺️

I didn't know about them too. I just always called them fisherman's jumpers!!

I’m from Glasgow, but found myself parked at the top of that Runswick Bay hill with my van this summer, I was out of breath by the half way bench too lol. It’s my favourite Yorkshire bay. Saltburn too. Whitby is wonderful. But Runswick bay has a timeless authenticity with virtually no commercialism, bar the parking.

At the end, I noticed Elfie leaning over to be in the shot, then you picked him up and chucked in the corner!!!! 😮 Another great trip out, James. 1901, those women just did what they had to do-hard life, to say the least. The fishermans jumpers lasyed for years, repaired time after time.I suppose in those days the pattern for each place made sure they were returned to their loved ones. I'm looking forward to Whitby and the abbey steps!!! Well done on the drone footage 😊
