@Millie-Mochis Anime exist for a century now. Like Disney in the 1920s. There were even propaganda anime for WWII but most materials are lost. Original Dragon Ball series (Dragon Ball Classc) is an adaptation from 1986. In October 1969, Fuji Television started an anime series, which is still on the air today and currently in production, making it one of the longest-running scripted TV series in history and the longest running animated show with more than 8500 episodes in 214 seasons.

9:08 Actually "HunterXHunter" manga is quite old now. The 2011 version is a renewed version because the old anime version is too... old to be carried on and some of the VAs didn't have the condition to continue. But sad news for the 2011 version again: the VA of that character who wears glasses and a vest passed away a few years ago. The author of the manga himself is having some health issues, so the manga is now on stated hiatus, and doesn't know when it could continue. But needless to say, HxH is a big name in Japan - especially at its time. It inspires manga like "JJK", "Naruto", part of "One Piece", "Bleach" and "Demon Slayer",...

"You must watch" the way that will bring you the most joy. Anime is made, and directed in Japan with the Japanese VA in mind. Why take the original art, and add an extra layer of some American company giving it an American interpretation, if reading subtitles doesn't seam to be a problem to you. Some people will say they can't focus on the show when they have to focus on reading, and that's a fine reason if you're the same. FMA has a good dub, but that dub is still a filter over the original show and any authorial intent.
