Thank you for producing these videos. I learn so much each time that I watch them. I don't care how long they are so don't apologize. I appreciate all of the information that you share. I cannot begin to have quail until the first of next year, so I am collecting the equipment that I will need. The more knowledge I absorb in the meantime the better quail owner I will be. Thanks again.

We are so excited. We just ordered these beauties from you. The incubators are up and running in a test to insure we are ready for the eggs when they arrive. This video is perfect. Thank you for doing these videos. We just ordered a brinsea ovation to insure we get the best possible hatch possible. It gets here Tuesday. Hopefully not too much longer till our eggs are shipped. These are for my daughters animal care high school course. She is autistic. I haven’t seen her this excited in years. We plan to keep them on the ground with hardware cloth buried in soil then bedding to help protect against predators.

Wish you had gone more into the explanation of phenotypes. Such as whats the difference between silver and fab fee.

I loved this one. Thanks and the length was fine for me. Turns out I have a silver pharaoh hen!

Great video. You are putting out the most comprehensive content on coturnix quail. I have a coop of 15 hens in a very small yard with no problems like smell,rats noise etc thanks to you and Chris from slightlyrednecked

I recommend that you also check out Terry's "Coturnix Corner" KZbin channel. Lots of good information there for smaller scale commercial quail keeping. "Coturnix Corner" and "Myshire Farm" have done several collaborative videos together - they are excellent complementary channels.

I am still getting set up to start raising quail. My original plan was to start with Jumbo Wild Coturnix, but I'm really loving the SSCs. I am about 2 hours away from Myshire and hope to visit in the near future.

Personally I don't feel that the videos are too long. Love learning as much as I can about quail in general. I would like I see a comparison of eggs, The jumbo size eggs compared to some of the other eggs. Visual comparison would definitely be a better way to understand the size of the eggs instead of weight comparison. Love all the videos, thanks

Thanks for another very informative video. I wondered how I wound up with three red-eyed white quail in my last hatch two weeks ago. I did have five, but two died within days of hatching. The remaining three are my special needs gang because they appear to be vision impaired. It must have been because somewhere in my flock I have a silver hen with the albino gene. I think it's time I started being a bit more purposeful in what breeds to what, instead of the free-for-all breeding that I hatched out the last few times.

How often do you get albino quail when hatching silvers? I bought some of the SSC eggs and we had 2 albinos hatch out of 60 eggs .are there any special considerations for Albino quail to be able to thrive?
@MyshireFarm2 жыл бұрын
I get about 1 in 300 so that is pretty amazing. When I do hatch one I cull it as I don’t want them in my covey unfortunately.

I am not a geneticist by any stretch of the imagination, but my questions are: Will/do the additional mutations that result from crossing mutations breed true? The new mutations are given games but if they don't breed true almost "immediately," when and how long might it take for the resulting mutations to breed true? I hope my questions "make sense." Thanks. Ok, sorry, didn't wait long enough forbeginning answers within this video, but my questions stand (for my benefit, if nothing else! ha ha) I really enjoy your presentations!!
