I leave my unused shea butter wrapped in plastic, placed in a container with a lid in my refrigerator along with all my DIYs I make with it. I don't add a persever. I take out my DIYs when I am about to use them at room temperature. My last batch lasted 6 months with no problems. Sterilize your containers before placing your DIYs in them and keep your contents clean as you use them. I place the DIYs I plan to use in small amounts on the lid, then wash the lid after I am done to keep the contents clean.

You made just one mistake! What you made is a SEALANT OIL, sealant oils LOCK IN MOISTURE, but need the MOISTURE to lock in. WATER, ALOE VERA, SPRITZ anything that is water/liquid based APPLIED FIRST, then your beautiful oil to LOCK IT ALL IN; GIVING GROWTH, PROTECTION AND STRENGHT TO YOUR HAIR. Next time try it with a water based product first then apply your oil and see the difference.

Hi, I was really excited to do this hair butter and I did that today, however, I found it came out too light, any pointers on making thicker, like your product?
@oluchicaroline
@oluchicaroline 6 ай бұрын
I suspect your oil is a bit higher than your base butter. I think adding more butter will help thicken it. And when next you’re trying it, add a lesser amount of oil. Too much oil makes it less thick and runny, and won’t allow it whisk into a butter properly.

You can decide not to whisk it. If you don't whisk it, it'd become hair grease which is equally good

You can use like that. Or use wooden turner/stirrer to stir it well. I used to melt my butters in the sun to a very soft consistency, and then use the mini turner (orogun) to stir very well, like I'm making Amala 😂
