From experience, you're absolutely right. 2015 STI bought new in 2014 for about $45k. Since then I have blown the motor twice. Once was covered by warranty and was Subaru's fault for using trash crank bearings. The second time was after I started modifying and had 350 WHP on stock turbo and motor. It was ringland failure. Since I bought the car I have spent at least $55k repairing it and trying different upgrades. I could have bought a very fast GTR for $100k. My STI is still not as fast as I want it to be at 466 WHP. Should say 15-18 STI, 19+ got the RA block with better ring and bearing tolerances. They hold hella lot more power reliably than any previous year. dam i feel sorry for subaru owners, my bone stock turbo k20 at 12lbs of boost making 380 whp with 220k miles & still pushin😂😂
@ccoghill234 жыл бұрын
For real. You want power you have to build the block. STI is a beast of a car if you do that. Built blocks are actually reasonable and are comparative to a built K20.

its easier just to go with the direct injection 2015+ wrx with the fa20. you can make close to 400 wheel on ethanol with these motors running an ethanol blend of about e60 with the cobb flex fuel sensor and pro tuned. the sti ej motor is kind of a dinosaur but the fa20 motor will race your 380 whp k20

@@ironmandingo1 if your just going for a power number sure get the FA20 wrx .... sti still a better car ..

What a joke. STI’s are trash as far as building/power and takes way to much cash to build them. I regret spending 20K on mine.

Meanwhile a frikin Evo with an intake and exhaust makes 30whp with out tune. I agree our cars are trash when it comes to modding

About 20 hp less than stock for a Subaru ;)))

It’s not worth it plus y’all lie on the website it says 330 WHP on this video y’all say 330 HP stock STI makes 260 whp and 305hp honestly it felt like 315 HP not 330 at all I’m hella disappointed I wasted money on that stage 2 I also said this on Instagram and y’all didn’t say anything
@maperformance4 жыл бұрын
A little confused by your comment here, our stage 2 93 octane tune is good for up to~300whp, we always use wheel horsepower. That can vary depending on where you live etc etc. Our stock car made 272whp / 288wtq.

Because vaping clowns throw crap parts at it? I've had 10 Subarus since 1999, and none have ever had an engine failure, but they have been pretty much stock. Strange.............

It's a cobb thing we wouldn't understand. But it's when you get a set of upgrades to match these tunes saved on the cobb tuner

Do something different. Buy 2015+ wrx. 6 speed swap it and mod the shit out of the fa20 engine. 🤣
@AntilleanConfederation3 жыл бұрын
Better option is buy Sti and if it goes boom get a fa20.

Sti guys are thinking why did i pay so much more for the sti when the wrx makes more ez reliable power

though it’s true, i’m definitely not thinking that.

Everyone's right, till they all realize they should've just bought the evo showing them tail lights instead.
