In shatner you see the wisdom of age and the maturity of being 90 years old ! He not only is the oldest person to go into space, he is not a professional astronaut as John Glenn was. His discription of going into space was the best I ever heard and I remember the Apollo program !

Hearing the wonder in William Shatner's words while others are celebrating as if it's a bachelorette really makes you realize that he's the only one who really gets what this experience means for humanity as a whole and confirms that in his heart he really is our Captain Kirk! I know we make light of the fact that we just sent Captain James Tiberius Kirk into space for real. But his reaction is the most genuine for us. We may not think that, but as they get older, and they have grandchildren, space travel and tourism might be commonplace.
