I've had a really bad depression spike in the last two years, but I genuinely enjoy watching you two. It's a time when I don't get the feeling you both described in relation to watching other media and narrative shows. It IS how I feel often about all media types. Even with documentaries and stuff in the real world. I'm worried it's related to the "always need to be productive". Because If i watch something with narration, I HAVE to look for all the subtle things about it, what it means, my brain does it seemingly automatically. Really interesting that Jarvis’s therapist is ok with not seeing him when he’s too sad… when I sit silently in a session my psychiatrist just asks “what are you thinking about?” And I literally say whatever is on my mind - song lyrics, something about work, something about life - and we go from there. His background is in psychoanalysis so the subconscious is everything and, under there model, the times you are too sad are probably when there are difficult truths near the surface that need to be expressed. Hang in there Jarvis.
