I don't get that person calling Jarvis low energy..? He's actually one of my commentary youtubers because he feels more like a person that you're having a conversation with. The thing with Jarvis is that even if you don’t enjoy his content, you can’t in good faith deny that he works hard and is a good person. Unless you assume everyone everywhere is lying about everything all the time. Same with Jordan! Like I can see not liking podcasts or commentary style vids but to accuse people of somehow cheating the system or calling them names is so messed up

It's also a lot harder to succeed as a nonwhite creator... Even if you "sound" white (i.e. don't have a noticeably non-white accent or whatever, particularly for anyone who just "listens" to YT videos or for how implicit bias has a bit of a spectrum based on things like color-ism and what people sound like). This just, has pretty specific evidence that people have published papers on at this point about the YT algorithm and implicit bias's role in it.

Yeah there's definitely no need to personally bash someone you don't even actually no or accuse them of not actually working for their career. Plus even if you dislike a creator it's really easy to just keep it to yourself. There are loads of youtubers that I don't enjoy watching so instead of leaving shitty comments I just... don't watch them lmao

I mean, it's not Like it is impossible for someone to have an echo chamber and appear better online than they are in actuality. Not saying that's what's happening here, bc even then, Jarvis ethics are just generally solid? I guess my point is, anybody could abuse someone with a lack of respect or communication or compatibility, but even still-- why should that warrant US to behave poorly in response? Aside from the victim and offender seeking rehabilitation, it's not like other people's conflicts and issues should even be news anyways. We can acknowledge that commentary as a genre thrives off of the punitive justice system existing. Jarvis is not a bad person, but yes we will eventually realize that this is not the most effective means of community improvement. It does serve a purpose right now in the meantime, but yes, I really believe that commentary videos will eventually become a bit obsolete and obtuse as we move towards a more equitable restorative planet

in my onion, most stans need a good therapist. when it gets too extreme, the parasocial relationships they create in their heads are bizzare and disturbing and can genuinely hurt people. of course it won't be all stans, but god somebody needs to tell these kids it's not okay to obsess this hard over someone who doesn't know they exist. there are so many people who are hurt by those dynamics regardless of if they're even involved and it sucks. i think we need more mindfulness, people are just ignoring who's gonna see their words.

When I found Jarvis, I binged everything! I especially love the Fact or Fiction. I joined twitch to watch the streams and subscribed via prime. I then loved collabs with Jordan, so followed him and his streams, your stuff together. I moved to Japan during the pandemic, I felt lonely and I'm still struggling due to my own issues (surrounding disability). Having all the long streams between the both of you has been so soothing. Especially the openness about everything, having felt so trapped myself. It's relieving! Rambling. But if, by chance, Jarvis can read this.. I just want to say I was not someone who was interested in commentary channels before. However, Jarvis opened up my interest. Now I look forward to these things every day!! I'm so grateful for this outlet. So, although there was that person with their opinion, I can certainly say I feel the opposite to what was said. I'm very grateful. I really appreciate all the work over the years, even though I'm new and catching up. You brighten up my days, and through you I've found many others to also brighten up my days. You're like little brothers to me 😂❤️ I love your energy, your topics, your banter... So hope you take care and never forget that people with any negative comments on your work will never cancel out those of us who enjoy it and enjoy you. That person is not your audience, and.. by the sounds of it.. that's okay 💀😅 Well, I hope that helps in some way maybe Sending love 💖

I feel like a jerk saying this, but I agree that Jarvis is low energy, I think Jordan's low energy, so is Chad Chad, Eddy Burback, um Kurtis Conner... it's not actually a bad thing. You all give off to me, chill, sarcastic vibes which goes well with your style of humor. It would be bad if you popped on like you are Mr. Beast or Keemstar, even Black Nerd Comedy. Obviously it's not something everyone can appreciate, but many people do appreciate it. Being low energy isn't always a bad thing (and yeah, it's mostly a comparable thing), it also doesn't mean low effort... Still, the craziest part is people thinking that KZbin cares about making specific people popular, outside of the likes of (like you said) Jimmy Fallon, CNN, or some giant corporate, mainstream network show that might pay more or something they could ask more for in advertising. The only thing a friend on the inside of YT can get you is maybe some technical service, and some inside news about features or problems that you can't or shouldn't repeat for the sake of your friends. I mean, I get it... the all powerful corporation... but it just feels silly to me. It seems like the age where everyone claims to be a tech-know it all, but we still seem to not know that much about how these things work. I mean, I still feel conflicted on if that is a good thing or not because it's good having that kind of magic behind the scenes stuff (especially because otherwise it seems like you get a lot of people telling you how you should have did your job..)

Thank you guys for touching on addiction so gracefully. So many people in my family have had lifelong if not fatal affects on account of their addictions and people seem to act as though it's their fault. While they did decide to take the first step, addiction is a debilitating disease that not everyone can deal with alone, especially with the most common perspective on addiction being "I wouldn't do that, so why can't they stop." Be it gambling or substance abuse, addiction is such a serious issue that most people seem to be unable to take seriously or think about critically. I've seen the cycle continue again and again so thank you for talking about it, especially with such a large audience.

Jarvis, that you laugh before you finish telling a joke is SO endearing and sometimes makes it even funnier because it makes me want to laugh with you and makes the joke feel so authentic. You don't need to bite your tongue, physically or metaphorically! With conspiracies, I think one reason people latch onto them is because it's an easy explanation for why the world isn't the way they want it to be. Reality is complex and so much of it seem senseless. "Everyone likes what I like so [insert KZbinr] must be in the pocket of Big KZbin" is easier and more attractive to believe than "people can like things I don't, plus the algorithm is fallible and thinks I want to see [insert KZbinr] too." But also, the best lies are based in truth. There ARE things in the world being unfairly manipulated by people in power. It's not always easy to tell which is which.

You both are two of my favorite content creators and I don’t think Jarvis is low energy at all. If we want to keep running with it, Jarvis you are my favorite industry plant. I’m glad the industry planted you in my algorithm. ❤️

"Low energy" and "chill vibes" are not the same thing, dang. And anyone who thinks your success is somehow due to youtube "pushing" your content is, like you said, someone who doesn't understand the concept that something that *they don't like* can still be good, and enjoyable to other people. KZbin could push a channel that I don't like into my feed every day for a year, and I still wouldn't like or subscribe, or even watch more than 5 minutes of one video before I just started ignoring them. Conversely, the Sad Boys consistently put out videos I enjoy, which is why, y'know, I keep watching them. They are chill dudes who aren't afraid to discuss their emotions while makeing goofs. Just having a good time, without makeing demands of your attention.

People being confused about why the second channel doesn't cost money reminds me of how for the longest time I never subscribed to anyone on KZbin because I thought it would work like a Netflix subscription and I'd have to pay money for it.

I used to find Jarvis boring until I realised that I really liked the way his commentary is different to Danny/Drew/Cody. I’ve watched a million videos reacting to the same things in the same way, but I actually enjoy seeing Jarvis and Jordan making fun of white people, or just sharing their perspective on things from a different angle. It’s not boring, it’s just different than the commentary channels we’re ACTUALLY seeing everywhere.

neurotypical people in general are bad at reading anyone who isn’t performing “normal” brain to the max. like, as a person with ADHD & autism, jarvis is basically speaking my language-he comes off as enthusiastic, but not overwhelming or performing for neurotypical dopamine receptors, which is why his videos are my favorite. like, sorry that my man isn’t masking 110% for you literally all the time and you totally lack the ability to adapt to others. grow up?

Gotta be honest while I certainly had this playing and was trying to listen to the actual words, I ended up just zoning out on Jarvis's' and Jordan's' voices. It stopped making any sense and was just two soothing voices lulling me in the land of half-awake relaxation 😌

If you ever feel nervous about pushing to keep your vision intact for adrolls, watch an episode of Some More News and just consider what notes they may have gotten. I am amazed they're consistently able to get sponsors.

Regarding your ending point about gambling: my ex is a gambling and drug addict and I've never seen someone ruin their own life so quickly. His weekly schedule is online gambling mon-fri at night, sleep during the day, and then over the weekends he goes to the casino or to private games to gamble and do meth. That's literally all he does because he's still a student (10 years to do a bachelor's degree? He still hasn't finished) and his parents pay for his basic needs while not keeping an eye what their sonny dearest is up to. He texted me five years after we broke up all miserable but when I told him he needs to get help he was like "nah, I kinda like it tho". K bruh, go have fun in hell. I hate gambling so much right now.

I love watching "low energy" creators, aka creators talking and acting like people rather than leaning into the overzealous actor/entertainer side of YT. I don't need someone yelling at me and doing cartwheels to keep my attention, but if someone does need/want that... they should go watch those kinds of videos rather than writing mean comments :)
