@brianmontgomery1619 yeah that would be most unfortunate. When I watch it in 1977 at the cinemas I was totally blown away. Haven't seen anything like it. Blown away by the special effects. That starting scene where the Blockade Runner being chased by Vader's Star Destroyer. The Destroyer going on and on and on. My jaw dropped as kid! I think I was holding my mum arm when Vader first appeared lol. The memories

Funny as I was looking at this one yesterday! At 53, I went and see it here in the uk in 77! Like the rest of my mates, we all wanted lightsabers and the plastic one they did with the light bulb in it!!! Glade things have moved on.

Love it! I bought an actual prop of this saber a few years ago from The Graflex shop. Display saber only as it is an actual Graflex ( has the light bulb in the glass eye and everything. It is sick!

3:47 If we say that when Luke made modifications, the saber would be his. So we can say that before the saber was Obi-Wan's because he made modifications since the saber from episode 4 is different from the one from episode 3.

There used to be ventilation in the pommel, back when they supplied the flashgun with movie parts separately, so that the end user could apply them to their liking. There were hidden sound vents. I suppose they got rid of them in the newer models. Great review!

For my Graflex neo-pixel hilts, I prefer the clamp the opposite side that is shown: I'm left handed so it just makes sense. For my 50+ year old Graflex Flash gun conversion, I keep it like the movie prop. It doesn't have electronics in it and it cost me a few times more than this one. CCSabers makes some of the best neo-pixel hilts. I just received my Yoda with proffie v3.9 and it's very nice, only the button shroud on the chassis was loose and fell off, but the electronics work fine, so I'm not going to RMA it.

I have that same lightsaber. Out of the box, it's great. It's not THE MOST accurate, but it's not bad. It's definitely closer than some, but not as close as others. Since I purchased it, I have swapped out the lower can, clamp and glass eye for far more accurate versions from Roman Props, which is who 89 Sabers nabbed their design from. And I swapped out the grips, d-ring and added handle rivets all from WannaWanga. I am using a blade plug from SaberForge that isn't 100% accurate, but is MUCH closer than the one that comes in the hilt, and honestly looks better than the original hilt's plastic lined socket. The only thing it needs now to be completely accurate is the stamped side bar on the clamp, and maybe a different set of bunny ears. Overall, great hilt. If you're not obsessed with tiny accuracy details, it's awesome. And if you ARE one of those people, like me, it's affordable enough that swapping out the parts for new ones isn't that harsh on the wallet. If I had to do it over again, which, let's be honest, I'm gonna buy another Graflex at some point- I'd buy one empty from Roman Props and have it installed. It would cost about the same, and it's gonna be a better product in the end. Great video as always. 😁👍🏻

89 sabers is the way to go when getting a functional replica graflex. I have an Anakin episode 3 saber that I got from Kyber Sabers last year but I think I need something a little more film accurate. I’m probably going to be snagging an 89sabers Anakin episode 3 saber soon.

Although it was the first ignited lightsaber on screen, it was not the first lightsaber we saw in Star Wars. Both Vader and Old Ben displayed their hilts upon their belts. Love the content! May the force of others be with you.

Although we don't see Kenobi's hilt until later, we know that he was wearing it the whole time during the Hello there scene due to behind the scenes photos. The entire scene you can see him purposefully covering his entire body with his robe.

Recent discoveries (last couple years) have shown that the d-ring was held on by 2 rivets on the bottom. Looks accurate in the product shots you showed but not in the one you have in hand.

I have a question. I know it’s important to remove common batteries from lightsabers to avoid battery acid and corrosion, but does this apply to the neopixel rechargeable batteries as well? I can’t seem to find an answer.

I still don’t know what to get? I’m wanting best detail, and battle ready. And I don’t mind spending a lot if I get those things and it will last. But there are multiple options, and some say the Disney ones are fine for the money (and I think you can get more custom sorts for them?.) But at $300, mass produced and they still have issues? Or aren’t heavy battle ready it’s a bit disappointing. I just don’t know what to do, if I get the top line one will I actually use them? What would give me what I want and at an ok price? Incase I need to replace it. Or what about second hand?

Dude... Company on KZbin to watch is "Theory Sabres" the SV4 chip in them blows away any neopixel or other RGB type...some are expensive some are $120.. but there's videos with him running them over, fighting with them...etc.. They have the best examples that you can spar with or just use for a prop

@@FindingTheForce Interestingly enough, I just changed my batteries. That fixed it. I practice HEMA, and own a feder (a blunted practice steel longsword (two handed sword). I am using a Century BOB Punching Bag (you can google it if you want). I generally don't hit it as hard as I would with my steel sword though. It's a fun workout!

Great pick up at the price point but I’m surprised they didn’t go for modern accuracy. The things that are inaccurate are the single rivet D ring is wrong and should be a double rivet. The blade plug is incorrect for this saber; The original one was flatter as it was a connection point for a flash bulb. The washer at the clamp level should be removed and the back of the clamp release should have a military number stamped. The grips based on your description sounds like they went for the modern rubber grips which are comfortable but inaccurate unfortunately. Not hating at all but it’s just I’m surprised they didn’t go the extra step to make it super accurate. If you doubt me at all please have a look at the wannawanga lightsaber guide. It’s used as the base for all lightsaber builds going for accuracy. May the force be with you.

Yeah, I do wish it came with that flat flash, gun style blade, plug, but to be honest, it would be very difficult to get your fingers in there to pull it out. So not my favorite blade plug, but I think it’s definitely more appropriate for the design.

Literally the only thing that irks me about this replica is the brand's choice of where they put the power button. In A New Hope you can clearly see Luke switch the saber on by holding his thumb on the calculator strip on the graflex clamp. But CCSabers went the Rey/Finn route by having the button below the bunny ears as the ignition switch. (Before y'all fight with me yes I know in the clone wars you can clearly see Anakin and Padme use the red button)

Fun fact: The first lightsaber we ever see onscreen is actually Darth Vader’s. When he walks onto the ship in the opening you can see it hanging on his belt, although no one seeing the movie for the first time would’ve known what it was, if they noticed it at all. That being said, the “Skywalker lightsaber” is the first lightsaber we ever see with its blade ignited.
