A friend and I enjoy fondue in her mother's old fondue set. She brings chewy bread and the cheese mixture, and I bring veggie and apple chunks and a bottle of red. 😋

I believe in the Victorian era Aspic (gelatin) was a trend. They put all kinds of stuff in it. It was revived in the 60s

The booz diet thing reminds me of a german joke about beer (more carbs in that): 7 beer are a meal and after that you STIll didn't have a drink! XD And that "modern rendition" of bananas-ham-hollandaise shown was actually WHITE ASPARAGUS, which is a classic GERMAN dish. Nothing "modern" about it. Maybe check your pictures again ?

I'll take the 1984 year of the bran muffin and feel bad for anyone born in 1985 when "new coke" was a disaster of a flop 😄 also 1st comment for the win 🥳

@Whatchutalkingboutwillis Well I'm glad I wasn't old enough to try it, I probably woulda liked it. Considering I grew up liking coke while the rest of my family were pepsi drinkers. Lol I remember Crystal pepsi too. I also remember when candy bars were 25 cents 😭
