This isn't really accurate because you can't roast the beans on the same day as making the espresso because they have too much CO2 which will block the espresso from coming out of the machine quickly and it will taste weird. And most people don't buy $2000 roasters to use in their homes, they just buy coffee from their local roaster. And the actual espresso preparation is only like 5 mins and it can be shorter if you're willing to cut corners.

It absolutely is. My setup already qualifies me as a coffee snob with a Niche Zero and used Gaggia Classic pro for ~ 750€. His Grinder alone costs 5x more, his WDT tool, porta filter and tamper are more expensive than my whole espresso machine and the difference in taste is a raise from 8,5/10 to a 9,5/10, it's just not worth it imho.

I had Yemenia coffee for 350€ a kg which I didn't enjoy at all, I had 40€/kg coffee that is my Go To coffee, I had 80€/kg coffee that I still dream about to this day that only is in season during May or so, I had 90€/kg coffee that tastes like earth and rubber to me. My rating is based on how much goodness you can derive from a coffee X, whatever coffee it is. 10/10 would be a set up that can extract all the goodness from your coffee with none of the bad, bitter, astringent, sour stuff 0/10 means your setup extracts none of the good aromas and all of the bad stuff. My setup, in my subjective opinion, has a ceiling of 8,5/10. Mostly I hit a 7-8/10, because the process is less controlled. With High End setups you pay, besides quality and brand name, for consistency of the products. The grind distribution of the grinder is more consistent, the pressure and temp of the espresso machine are always the same, the tamper takes human errors out of the equation etc. So if you take that same coffee to a set up similar to the one shown in the clip you get up to a ~9,5/10, that's what I am saying. How do I know it's 9,5/10? because 10/10 by default is a myth. And because I had the opportunity to compare my setup to a similar high end setup and the cup did taste notably better but not worth the money (for me). Some people just have the money, time and dedication to go that route, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it's not for me, too finiky, too expensive, too time consuming, arguebly too pretentious for too little benefit.
