The Most Secretive Megaproject of DARPA US X 37B Space Plane
From the start, the Space Force had detractors. Air Force officials wondered if it was necessary, while some political observers believed that it signified the start of a dangerous and expensive militarization of another realm. What seemed harder to argue against was how nearly every aspect of modern warfare and defense - intelligence, surveillance, communications, operations, missile detection - has come to rely on links to orbiting satellites.

My thought is.. this is a prototype, it will/or has been converted to a stealth version very difficult to track by RADAR. This why launch criteria requires it to be encapsulated in a fairing (it does not have to be), no one knows which plane goes up or where the stealth plane is. SPECULATION: Stealth plane opens payload doors, captures adversarial satellite, return to earth undetected.

Celestial Eagle The first and only time a satellite was destroyed by any aircraft. on Sep. 13, 1985 when an F-15A Eagle (76-0084) nicknamed ‘Celestial Eagle’ piloted by Major General (then Major) Wilbert D. `Doug’ Pearson Junior took off from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, and destroyed the Solwind P78-1 satellite, which the US had only launched some six years before, but was having issues with depleted batteries. loaded with a single Ling-Temco-Vought ASM-135 ASAT missile and launch it in a zoom climb to take out any offending satellite.

Most interesting and informative. Very good video. The experiment iterations that can be tried are endless! Even humans could be transported. Could it land on the moon using skids?
@Spacewalker1870
@Spacewalker1870 6 ай бұрын
on the moon, there is no atmosphere, so there would be no lift. the skids help land the spaceplane at its gliding velocity to a flat surface, at 0 velocity. but on the moon, with rugged terrain and no atmosphere, a horizontal landing wouldnt be possible. but, if it had some sort of vtol engines (engines facing down, perpendicular to direction spaceplane is facing) it could theroetically land on its skids, using a powered landing. although the lunar regolith can be kind of fine (small particles) but also really rough, it would need specialised skids/landing gear for landing on the moon.

@@Spacewalker1870 So if one had the resources (Elon) one could make a drone like vehicle with thrusters instead of propellers. Just a manifold that could redirect the main engine exhaust might make a super simple craft with few parts. Go for it; you take the patent.
@Spacewalker1870
@Spacewalker1870 6 ай бұрын
@@clavo3352 u could add a propulsion system, and additional fuel tanks to enable it to, starting from lunar orbit, land on the moons surface and return to lunar orbit. assuming the unmodified x-37b weighs 5 metric tons (i got this from like a random nasa document on the web, idk if its acurrate as it could just be x37 instead of x-37b but for calculations im assuming it to be right numbers) so, if an x-37 weighs 5 tons without modifications, and 6 metric tons with powerful enough vtol engines and fuel tanks (fuel mass not included here) and also assuming the engines efficiency to be like kind of average, but not super great but also not super bad, (engine isp of 300 used for calculation) then the total wet mass (mass of spacecraft and mass of fuel combined) would be 19,442 kg, or about 19.4 metric tons, and subtracting 6 metric tons of the weight of modified x37b spacecraft, you would need 13442 kilograms of fuel to land on the moon. so, you could do it but like you would need a lot of fuel to land on the moon. but if you had more efficient engines, like raptor vacuum engines (with isp of 380s) you would only need 9179 kg of extra fuel.

Very interesting video. I gathered there is an X-37, an X-37A, and an X-37B. Has the first 2 types been upgraded to the “B class”? How many X-37B’s exist? How many X-40’s exist? I believe that we need a viable Space Force but I still think it’s name should be “Star Fleet”! I also believe that we are off to a great beginning,

Nah mate I'm just your average Aussie smart arse but thanks for elevating my academic credentials. Truth be told having flown in commercial planes half my life as well as being an Air Crash Investigations junkie now in recovery for a few years the recent 737 Max ' accidents ' almost caused me to relapse. Just thinking of the sheer terror of the passengers and bravery of the pilots sends me to a dark place. And losing fellow citizens when those crazy Russians shot down MH 17 and not long afterwards MH 370 going 'missing' was really pushing me close to the edge. And you know the common denominator - Boeing. And you'll appreciate, being an ANZAC ( giving me an anti authority birthright) I get really pissed off when blame is often put on the pilots. When in fact it usually comes down to corporate greed and expediency putting human lives at risk. I just wish Trump flew in a 737 max but he's doing a brilliant job of crashing and burning himself ( while blaming everyone else lol) And of course the shape of this new Boeing Megaproject immediately reminds me of Challenger. ( many people don't know the astronauts were still alive after the initial explosion) And then there's the ridiculous notion of any space force and war in space. Our space which is already flooded with an unbelievable amounts of space junk ( which you think these geniuses - except Musk - should have to sort out first) I won't get started on him and how he shut down Starlink just as the Ukraine fast attack boats could have ended the war with Russia early. But if you're still reading and I've got your attention you might be able to help me with this puzzling question. The last time I asked ( I used to watch one of the Flight Simulator channels) and was sternly shut down by an astrophysicist ( I'm not kidding) was how the hell did an untrained pilot ( who learned to fly from a basic Windows flight simulator PC Rom in America) fly a commercial plane from 30000 feet to 500m above ground for 1km into the Pentagon? I don't think the astrophysicist liked my incredulity that an auto pilot ( if he wasn't flying manually on 'approach') could be programmed to crash? And finally despite my daughter wanting to be a pilot and all the research and encouragement I give her like her brother who wants to be an investigative journalist ( I quietly think to myself - fark no please lol) Cheers Rad
