Pretty sure the Ru-251 is about as paper tank as you can get. My friend told me it was only a proposition, not even a proper blueprint. If the VFW can choose to go toaster mode or non-toaster mode we should be able to lower the gun shields on this thing.

Oh, and on the subject of the English Channel map, that is the single greatest and most fun game I've had on War Thunder in Air RB, and I'll tell you why. I was a ground pounder, an attacker, the loving owner of a brand new IL-2 Shturmovik. I saw that map and I was like, okay, little strange to see IL-2s crossing the English channel, but I can work with this. Got right down over the water and started the journey towards my prey. I was in a game with four bombers, and it was the first time I've actually seen random players coordinate with each other to cover the formation and reach the targets. Long story short, they hit all of the bases, I hit a lot of ground targets, and I was on my way back from a rearm when the additional ground targets spawned. I got hit pretty bad but took out two enemy fighters in the process. I used my last bullets and my last drops of fuel to hit those targets, and the one fighter alive on our team did the same, and we won because of it. It's to this day the only time I've had well-coordinated teammates that resulted in a victory from nothing but bomb targets and enemy ground units.

Talking about "realism" in an game, where axis planes are for the most part litteral UFOs, 109s and 190s operating at altitudes where in reality, their engines would strugle to keep the damn contraptions from falling like rocks. But im not that biased, tho I may sound like an ameraboo allready, beeing in an Tiger II, facing cold war tanks or russian premium prototypes like the Obj 120, that verses WW2 tanks, has NVD, APFSDS and has a railgun as a main gun, isnt realistic, nor fair. Not to mention the BMP1 at the same BR range, that gets 300mm of pen on the stock round and guided missiles. Plus tank RB witch is a mish mash of pre-war, ww2 and cold war designs fighting eachother. War Thunder is nowhere near, an realistic game, furthermore, its just becoming the "pay to enjoy" type of game.

The "realistic" part about the M3 GMC is that the reload value is for an emplaced artillery crew, shooting indirect fire missions, at the manual indicated sustained rate of fire. Which means, they're firing at a HIGH gun angle. The maximum rate of fire for a direct fire mission (that is, as a tank destroyer, looking directly at your target) is around 4 seconds. All of that info is in the same manual they pulled the sustained high angle rate of fire from; BUT THEY REFUSE TO CHANGE IT BECAUSE, REASONS.

I feel the realism in warthunder comes and goes now. When you have instances where you get killed by a glitchy 50cal in a tiger 2 to when a 155mm bounces off a m18. It use to be...better (maybe not for the solid shot people) back when armor meant something and shells actually worked. Paper vehicles are bound to happen again, so I don't mind as long as it isn't something like the object 120 that basically a point and click p2w adventure with no armor (yet it survives the dumbest things).

Within the context of what it is, an arcade WW2 tank shooter, War Thunder is heads and shoulders above the competition in terms of realism. It's not a simulator, but when we think about historically inspired stats, parts damage, no HPs and all the physics, War Thunder is definitely video game realistic.
