THE MOST SUSPICIOUS $120K ALPHA STARTER OPENING

Well, must admit the geek as I am, this was actually an important opening! A few years ago, I made replica Alpha print sheets with the help of data gathered by The Collation Project and watching every single Alpha product opening video I could find. In the end I had to make a best guess for the artwork of one of the mountains on the uncommon sheet (I never found an opening covering that area of the sheet), this opening finally confirmed I guessed correctly 😂 Also, for what it’s worth, there are three island rares in Alpha on the rare sheet, the one you opened is the one that is replaced in Beta with Volcanic Island. The version of the art was unknown for many years until a Beta starter with Alpha rares was opened maybe two years ago - I believe this is the first time it’s been seen from an Alpha pack!

I am pretty sure I can explain the tape. People like to shake starterts to make sure there is no lose cards inside and instead a properly sealed starter. The tape would make it sound right.

This is why I think there shouldn’t be a single box left unopened. I get that having an unopened box is a finite thing and there’ll be a point where there’ll be only a handful left, making them even rarer, BUT if those boxes aren’t cracked, then what if the last 5 “unopened” alpha starter decks in the world are actually filled with fucking Wyvern cards and Italian magic cards. There’s NO guarantee anymore that you have what you think you have until you open it

The only reason not to open them, is to artificially inflate the market, and create a fraudulent market where scams are possible. It's like diamonds and watches, literally worthless, but people think they're rare so they've got inflated market value from artificial scarcity. The unopened packs should organically increase in value as they're naturally opened over time, to purposely hold them unopened because of their value is purely a weird capitalist thing, and it births all these scams and frauds, etc.

I love the idea of opening cards and wearing gloves for the first time... but every stream it gets more and more comical. Yes, 3 have been opened on camera and verified in the 15 years. KZbin has existed. There are only 3 recordings of a black Lotus. There are 0 recordings of a misprinted black Lotus being pulled.
