At least you’ve got a good nature about looking back at yourself, I fear I’d cringe myself to death… the noises in this game are great, it’s a game the game likes to play with you… which noises are ambiance and which noises are dangerous. Good times.

As someone who has had this game in their life for the past 20 years, it's been such a joy to see people experience it for the first time. Bloober Team did such an amazing job with this remake. So well in fact that I don't think I'll ever play the original again. The memories they were able to recreate. The emotion they've been able to draw out of me again. The detail they've been able to add is just incredible. I hope they are able to work on remakes of the other games as well. This is horror.

I am so genuinely thankful, I would not have experienced this game if it wasn’t for such an excellent remaster. A lot of folk were very hesitant, but yeh, seeing an entire (gaming) generation experience it for the first time is so cool! Hopefully they do the others now!

Oooo! There’s so many details in this game, I didn’t see that at all. Please do share as many as possible. - I’ve finished the game already so nothings a spoiler ☺️
@joeb918Ай бұрын
Here are some details you may have not noticed… You can see that with James, his fingernails get dirtier as the game. Angela’s are clearly bitten. Mary’s last breath can be heard several times throughout the game. If you go into the area where Maria resting in the hospital, the enemies will not follow/attack you. On a poster in the hospital, you can clearly see the word guild, but if you use the read function, it omits it because James himself won’t read it. After you learn the truth, when you save James no longer looks the player in the eye or the camera angle for the save point. James physical appearance changes, bags under his eyes get darker as the game goes on. I don’t think it’s been confirmed, but I think the two of the musical pieces you find tie to two characters. The first translates to Lonely Flower which I think connects to Laura, as she’s lonely in the world. The second translates to Towards the Flame which I think ties in with Angela. Both of these I think also tie into how they see the world of Silent Hill, vs how James sees it. The city itself with its “energies” makes everyone experience something different, for Angela it’s a world on fire, for Laura I think it’s just an empty lonely city. The whole game is a dark story, but this one, oy… the apartment you find Angela in has distorted proportions, which are possibly due to it being skewed because of the perspective of her as a child.
@joeb918Ай бұрын
*youtube won’t let me edit! For the first one, it’s supposed to end with “as the game goes on.” And on the one I mentioned about the poster, guilt, not guild!

Hey I always love seeing new people experience SH2 for the first time. But I do want you to know, that in that scene with pyramid head attacking the mannequin "legs" enemies in the apartments, its be confirmed over and over again by one of the original game directors of SH2 that he isn't doing anything 18+, besides killing it. Its a common misconception/myth that I think detracts from Pyramid heads purpose. Anyways hope this reaches you. Have fun with the riddler.

Didn't notice the accent until you said "torch" at the beginning 😅. Algorithm brought me here, will watch. You said that you'll explore "everything", and if you keep playing please explore everything. The OG game and this one were meant to be played exploring all the nooks and crannies. For me personally, I would have gone easy on combat, since this game is story driven. Going easy on combat doesn't deter from the story (nor the scares) at all; it actually makes you focus more on the atmosphere, exploring and the puzzles. And I was right, you were too combat focused in the streets of SH that you missed some great places to explore...and missed soooo many health items. EDIT: Yes! Playing on PS5 with PS controller, the way SH should be played...not on inferior PC. Just for that I've subscribed and liked 😁

The use of fog in the original game was a clever use of hiding game elements so the PS2 wouldn’t be overgrazed, however it also created a sense of unease and of what is beyond what you cannot see. Ironically when they made a remaster (not a remake like this one which also added more the original game) they lessened the fog and it lost a lot of its horror element. It lost that foreboding the fog brings. As far as the game elements looking familiar you. Indeed. Though I think it’s not just limited looking like parts of London, there’s bits and pieces of real world areas, that connect with players all over the world. You probably discovered more in town about where the game is supposedly set, so I’ll hold off, however “Silent Hill” the name itself is somewhat borrowed from a name from a real place in Japan, which translates to “Quiet Hill.”
