A lesson I learned from this story (amongst other lessons) is that if you're ever in a home invasion scenario, you should close any door that is within reach. To make this easier, make a habit of closing the doors to every room as you leave them. That way if someone breaks in, they'll have a much harder time discerning which door you're hiding behind. This can give you valuable time to call and wait for help; and to prepare to defend yourself. Jayme's mom didn't do that, and when the intruder broke in, he only needed to look for the one closed door to know where the two were hiding. And given that they missed the police by just a few seconds, making him take time to search various rooms would have made things turn out very differently.

Can you please do a video on the Bodies In the Barrels AKA the Snowtown murders. It’s one of the most disturbing murders I’ve ever heard of (including torture, recording them screaming and saving it for their next victim, and experimented with CANNIBALISM). It’s considered one of Australia’s brutal serial murders. Another one that got to me was Katherine Knight- she brutally murdered her partner, chopped his head off, skinned it, boiled it and *made it into a soup.* She actually dished him up into several servings for each child of his as if they were to actually eat it (his kids were all legally adults). When I watched full documentaries about it, I couldn’t eat red meat for a few days due to the brutality of the murder. She was also the first woman in Australia to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. It’s very disturbing and I’m glad she’s not in the general public, she’s a menace to society.

Maybe it’s because of how horrific this story was, and nothing can compare to what poor Jayme went through, but afterwards my brain went to all the additional people one monster also affected. I mean, imagine also being that hiring manager at the job that monster just got back from interviewing for, and then likely IMMEDIATELY (or at least quickly/eventually) finding out he just got arrested for that terrifying, horrible crime. The only positive I always take away from these kinds of stories are that for that one monster, knowing how many people either can’t understand/process it (HEALTHY MINDSET SIGN) or that stood up and helped that poor little girl.

Stranger abductions are rare. It is usually family. It could be custody battles etc. It was released that he was thinking about this for two years. I know they thought Jayme's parents were the target at first. Jayme's parents were supervisors at the Jennie o plant. It was a disgruntle employee. But they could not find a link. Mr ballen left stuff out probably for monetization.
