@@jonas8993 Yeah, there are reasons, but they just don't make sense to almost every human. But if there was no rhyme or reason to their actions, even in their own heads, they wouldn't be doing it. There's a reason why the behavioral science unit is a thing, even if it may be intensely dramatised in tv shows and such, but the fact that we can predict some factors of their behavior, means that there's some logic to their behavior and deviancy.

“How can someone (blank)?” The answer is that they aren’t normal people and have brains that don’t work the way normal humans do. Psychopaths can’t feel remorse or empathy due to the brain lacking activity in that area. Mix in some childhood trauma and you got a serial killer.
@DisorientedWanderer
@DisorientedWanderer 2 жыл бұрын
True they aren't normal humans but rather broken or defective humans. Sometimes it doesn't even need trauma to create that. In few cases all it takes is a lack of dopamine being produced and they are trying everything to get it and for some reason taking a life causes the brain to produce it and they become addicted to that feeling. There's a lot of things that can create a monster. Whether it being a lack of some chemical in the brain, a portion of the brain working at half capacity like the amygdala processing fear or like you said childhood trauma all of which and more can weaken the psyche and it would just take a very simple push to break it if it wasn't already broken at birth.

Can't remember if it's psychopothy or psychopathy but one of those don't register in their mind that what they are doing is real. It's like a fantasy world through their eyes and what they do to others doesn't have any consequences to them or is even hurtful to others. Like slapping a stuffed animal or like what Chad said with slamming a car door. I think it's more frightening than someone who is fully aware that what they're doing is harming someone because it's like an adult with the understanding of a toddler who's been exposed to excessive violence.

This "fantasy world" perception was the argument people were making claiming that video games lead people to violence, such as Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty games, where you enact acts of violence against fictional targets like in a training simulation or something. They see real life as a video game & think they can just do whatever they want.

There's a camera inside, but not at the service window? Is it normal to have a sole employee in the middle of nowhere, doesn't health & safety require at least two people?
@WastelandsNomad2277
@WastelandsNomad2277 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, even at my very tiny retail store on the outskirts. We always close up with a minimum of 2, luckily most of the time it's 3 of us. The only time I didn't feel safe was when my shift runner and I had closed up, she went home and left me to wait for my ride alone for the next 10 minutes. I was fine but I stayed next to the cashmachine security camera the whole time waiting for my mum because I didn't wanna fall out of any view point. There's alot of weird, f'd in the head and scary people you end up serving at mine. I don't trust any of them.

In the US lots of business owners care more about their profit margins then their employees who make the money for them. I'm under the impression that the camera placement was more for making sure the baristas aren't slacking then for their safety and we'll being. And having one employee like that is more cost effective than paying two people.
@daveofyorkshire301
@daveofyorkshire301 2 жыл бұрын
@@victor75208 it's commonsense to have a camera outside a trading window for security, who doesn't? If you're going to get trouble chances are that's where it comes from, and if you make an insurance claim and report to the Police the first thing they'll ask for is camera footage. Not recording the trading area is ridiculous. Cameras are £20 a throw (I don't know about the USA) but it's a no brainer to record all public areas in a business.
@victor75208

@@daveofyorkshire301 Alot of the "mom and pop" places are usually owned by shrewd businessman making passive income. To them the coffee shop like in the video is just another investment for them. I'm sure the owner could've bought an extra camera pointing outward at the customers but the sad reality here in the US is that some small time owners have very little consideration for their employees. They just want to see their investment turning the highest profit with the lowest cost of labor and other expenditures.

I've heard this story so many times and I just don't get why she didn't press the panic button. Assuming it's right by the register, which it usually is, she definitely could've subtly pressed it. I'm sure she was terrified, but for anyone else out there... find a way to hit that button. Looking at the layout of this tiny place, she could've pressed her body near it and slipped a hand down real quick, etc. To be clear, I am NOT blaming her. She was terrified and I get it, just as a PSA for others. Also, we haven't gotten to this part yet, but when he first left her in the truck to go inside, she should've made a run for it. Again, I'm not blaming her, just giving a PSA. You never want to let someone with bad intentions get you to a second location because they will almost always kill you then. If you are ever, god forbid, in a similar situation, wait until he's inside, peek your head up, then book it. There are plenty of neighbors, find one with the lights on and bang as loud as you can, or just book it in the darkness and hide. This poor, sweet girl. May she RIP and may her family, especially her dad and her then boyfriend find some peace. I know that bf feels tremendous guilt for being late. If it was me, I'd feel like if I had been on time, he would've seen a running car, and moved along to a different target. Ugh. Just tragic all around.

God I hope whoever he kills gets found. I don’t know how anyone can do something like that. People are just born to be evil. Sometimes I wish I could be a part time demon and torture people like them in hell. Pisses me off. As Disturbed band says in Legion of Monsters “You make sure the world knows your name. But they don’t realize. The future demons to be the ones on the screen. Still they keep repeating the headlines on the screen.” Then while on death role or in jail for life or whatever. Hollywood makes a movie about it. And instead of focusing on the victims lives, it’s all about the monsters who do that to them. Pretty much makes it a entertainment out of a tragic real life horror story. Takes their pain and twisted it to fit their version and the real story is just not there. Also as that song says “ You disrespected the dead and the only name is of the one who committed the murder on the face of the screen. As the mad men watches with glee” Media is a double edge sword. They help with missing people but they talk to much about the killers, rapist and other assholes to much and the mentality deranged get it in their minds that if I do this, that I’ll become famous. I might get a movie made after me. Media just help with reports and Hollywood make up your own content without basing it on real events. Not only that. He didn’t just rob the families of their loved ones. He robbed his child from knowing her father. And her growing up at school known as the child of a killer
