I had someone banging on my door at 3 A.M. screaming and I had no clue what about. They wanted in my home. I called the cops and while on the phone with the cops I told the people at my door, "I am armed. If you come through my door, I will be forced to take your life. It's your choice. The cops are on the way." I told the dispatcher I had 5 kids in my home and wouldn't hesitate to shoot. Fortunately, I didn't have to, but my point is, he handled this situation entirely wrong. You have the right to defend yourself, but this ain't it.

After reading your post I totally agree with you. At first watching the video I felt bad for him seeing as he lived in a high crime rate area being scared I kinda understood why he did what he did. However after reading what you wrote I can now agree he went about it completely wrong. People do stupid things when they are scared.

@@clddebargeify I agree. I was terrified. I was even more terrified for my children. However, what was even more terrifying, was opening my door to God only knew what and exposing my kids to something I couldn't protect them from. At least with the door between us, by the time they got it open I was ready. Also, if you can't act under pressure and be responsible, don't own a firearm. Not you, but people in general. ☺

@Leibniz IF. YOU. CAN'T. HANDLE. THE. PRESSURES. OF. OWNING. A. GUN. DON'T. OWN. ONE. People like him are why people go so hard against guns and I get it. I am all for weapons. Arm yourselves. Be responsible. This idiot murdered her. He wasn't in danger. If someone knocking on your door at 3 A.M. and is absolutely no threat to you (has not shown a threaten, spoken a threat), makes you so damn freaked out, you open your door and murder an unarmed person, you shouldn't have owned a firearm to begin with. There's no excuse. We're not talking about the difference in how someone reacts to a death of a loved one or car accident. This man owned a firearm and clearly shouldn't have.

@@yoloswaggins7121 I did exactly what I should have done and exactly what he should have done. Had he spoken to her, MAYBE she would be alive. Mine happened to be my methed out neighbors who had a deal go wrong and they were tied up and robbed. When they finally escaped, they came to my house. I couldn't understand them and had never met them. I live in the country on 6 acres, on a double corner lot. He lived across the highway, so I use the term neighbors loosely. ☺ I spoke to them because had it been someone I knew in trouble (example; one of my adult children or their friends, etc...) and they needed me, I wanted to answer. This guy did everything wrong. Frustrates me. She should be here.

When I was little, a man came to the door and he was bleeding really bad. He was asking for help and my nana would not let him in, told him she had babies in the house but she can call for help or can find it somewhere else. We couldn't believe she wouldn't let him in, but now being grown and hearing all these stories I understand why she did what she did. Theodore was not in fear for his life, he opened the door and shot this woman point blank. This story is awful. It's a shame you have to fear asking for help and helping people.

In case people aren't aware, it's EXTREMELY unlikely for any modern firearm to just "go off" without the person handling it performing some sort of action to it. Modern guns are required to have several safety systems internally and externally which makes true "accidental discharges" extremely rare. Almost every gun accident has negligence behind it.

True but that doesn't necessarily mean his actions were illegal. In fact, it would have been better for him legally to emphatically affirm that the gun was loaded and that he intended to shoot. That being said, his defense would still have to hinge on whether he had a reasonable fear that his life was in danger, and that seems very doubtful to me based on the story he gave.

@@GrueTurtle Well, you can still be afraid and confront someone. In fact, if you're really afraid for your life, confronting someone might be the most reasonable thing to do. In this case though, he doesn't really say that. He contradicts himself. So I'm left to consider what I think a reasonable person would do in that situation. Given the fact that he said it was persistent, it seems to me that he had plenty of time to call the police. I think a reasonable person would have armed themselves and called the police. I can see someone opening the door and engaging if they felt that the intruder's entry was imminent, which he does kind of say, but in the absence of a police call beforehand and his own characterization of it being persistent banging and knocking, I just don't think he acted reasonably. I have little doubt that he was afraid. I know I would be if someone was aggressively banging on my door at 4:30am, but I think a reasonable person in those same circumstances would have called the police beforehand.

While I likely would have called police myself, I also spent about 30 years in high crime, low income areas. If you truly believe someone is trying to break into your house in an area like that, a call to police for "someone might be breaking in" might mean you wait 30 minutes for police to finally show up and find your dead body. It really depends on how busy they are an if they deem your situation "urgent" or not. You may even wait longer. I once called about my neighbors fighting in the front yard when one started threatening to stab the other. They finally came after about 20 minutes. And I was in a medium sized city in the south. This guy lived on the outskirts of Detroit. However, having a gun pointed at someone when you open the door is generally enough to end the situation. Most people trying to rob you don't want to risk dying for your TV and the 30 bucks you might have in your wallet. There was absolutely no need to fire before even seeing who was on the porch. His reaction was ridiculous.

I ran to someone's door around 1am covered in blood after an ex broke the glass in my front door to my home and reached in and opened it and beat the shit out of me. So I had glass wounds from trying to keep the door shut and also wounds from him. My hands were full of glass from falling to the ground where all the broken glass had fallen and trying to get back up over and over again and trying to crawl out the door as he held onto my ankles at one point. I kicked him in his jewels as hard as I could and ran a block over looking behind me to see if he'd been able to see where I went... Once I was a street away I started banging on doors holding my hands up to show I was injured. It took about six homes before someone actually spoke to me. The whole time I'm telling but trying not to yell too loud but enough for people inside to hear me saying you don't have to let me in just call 911 my hands and knees have broken glass in them I just got away from my ex I need help. And even saying that over and over it took til house six for someone to call. She kept her door locked but had a porch so I tried to hide behind the support beams and down low since she had some bushes in front of it so he wouldn't see me. Honestly I was scared if he saw me going inside a home he'd destroy their door and attack them too. At the time I got that there were people who'd stage this kind of thing or stage a wreck to rob someone but fuck man I was just begging people to call 911 and saying I don't need to come in and I was still ignored. .. I did end up going to the hospital and they soaked my hands and feet in iodine or something else that color and had to tweeze the glass out, not my best night. I moved back to the same area to care for my grandparents a few years back and still see that home often. I always remember that night when I look at their door/porch. I wonder if the same woman lives there. If she remembers me.

I would go out on the bike for awhile at night to relax (looking back that was not wise at all even though it was 1980) and one night about a mile from home, this little dog got fixated on chasing me and trying to get close enough to nip at my ankles. I felt like I couldn't get away from the dog even though it was so small it made me nervous, lol, and I managed to kind of take refuge in this person's driveway. I was very naive at that age, wasn't thinking of danger 🤥 I could not seem to leave without that blasted dog ready to come right back. Someone across the street must have alerted the people because this man eventually came out and asked what I was doing, he said they were in the middle of some legal issue with some person or people, and that I was lucky, that normally he would shoot first and ask questions later! I was able to call my mother's boyfriend who lived right down the road and he reluctantly came and helped me get back home. (It was around 3 am). I guess it wasn't "my time."

They are pumped full of hatred and fear from birth and you end up with the toxic school shooting constantly at war society that brings so much suffering to the world. Personally, I don't think they feel human empathy like other humans. EVERY developed nation has free at-source healthcare for all apart from America. so if you think about that this means they are the only humans on earth willing to let their neighbours die because they cannot afford simple healthcare costs, despite being easily wealthy enough to help each other. There have been plenty of situations of someone banging on a door in the middle of the night screaming for help and haven't had a shot gun blast to the head. They probably peeked out the blinds to see who was out there before they opened the door. Not swing the door open with guns blazing. Despite the fact that she was drunk driving and crashed her car, she was looking for HELP. Period. Like so many people in a scary situation do. That was no reason for her to be shot dead. At least have the guts to admit it instead of lying and saying you didn't know it was loaded and it went off by itself.

No properly developed adult brain would even think to answer late night knocking on the door with a fully loaded shotgun already aimed at the visitor, finger on the trigger, safety off, and not even 1 full second to look at this person before pulling the trigger and murdering this poor woman who's banged all up from a car wreck, hoping this person would have even a shadow of empathy or common decency. She suffered a potentially life threatening car wreck only to be immediately murdered by the first person she asked for help. This guy is one of the bigger reasons so many people hate guns to begin with. You'd also have to be a pretty nasty rotten POS to do that to another human being who clearly needed help and he clearly had zero interest in even looking at the person at the door, let alone even listening to a single word she has to say, opting instead to open the door, finger on the trigger of a loaded gun with the safety off, and firing point blank at somebody who needed help. This is a textbook 'shoot first, ask questions later' example that illustrates clearly this guy shouldn't have ever had any access to any kind of weapon due to his under developed mental and emotional cognition. He is absolutely a danger to society and need to be separated from society before he kills more people for no reason. I'm only 2 minutes into this video and already going he gets life with no parole for this horrifying blatant display of pure malevolence and lack of regret for his horrendous come. I hope they beat his head in with the book and take the rest of his life from him for taking this poor girl's life. What a wretch.

You don't know that he was the "1st person she asked for help". There was a 3.5 hour gap between the wreck and arriving at his home. Three and one half hours. I doubt she went 3.5 hours without asking anyone else for help. To think anything else is ignorant, imo. You says it's messed up to do this to someone who clearly needed help. You, don't clearly know ANYONE needs help at 430am, after just being woken up and trying to look outside to see who's banging on the door. Clearly 🤣🤣🤣 Come back to reality. You make a whole lot of assumptions incorrect here for absolutely no reason. Nothing in this vid said anything close to what you're claiming here. 🙄 I love how everybody on the internet is an expert after watching a few vids. Mr wannabe expert over here smdh. You don't have a clue about much of what, you said and it's hilarious that watching a 15 minute vid allowed you to come to alllll those conclusions. It is not objectively normal to hear people banging on your house in the wee early hours of the night. There have been many cases presented in court of assailants pretending to be in distress in order to elicit a response from a homeowner more homogeneous towards the assailant being given access to, or 'protection' within the target's home, before committing their assault against said homeowner. This is a fact that needs to be taken into consideration when measuring the capabilities and cunningness of criminals and organized crime seeking to exploit the natural compassion and helpfulness of others.

That’s the problem I have with some gun owners: they make the last resort their first resort! Seriously, think about what you would do if you DIDN’T have a gun: get on the phone with 911? Make sure your doors and windows are locked, stay inside, go to the interior of your home, go out the back, any number of options. Nope, just went straight to blowing off her head. Even having a gun, yes go get it, yes load it, but get on the phone with 911 and stay away from the door. Let the person outside know you have a gun if you must. This absolutely didn’t have to end this way.

I know right. Watched one the other day and he wanted to kill someone for breaking into his neighbours car. He was on the phone to dispatch saying he will go out there and kill him. Dispatch were saying you cant kill someone for breaking into someone else's property when no-one is in danger. He felt like because he owned a gun he had the right to take a life for robbing a stereo. Beyond ridiculous. Surely there should be in depth psychological evaluations before letting someone own such a dangerous weapon. Seen so many parents buying children guns. What is the world coming to.

So, a coroner can determiner the injuries to her hands as relatable to a car accident. A toxicologist can determine her blood-alcohol level and whether she was drunk or not, but who exactly determined that she had a concussion when her head was destroyed - completely? Her head wasn't "damaged" as you worded it, it was shattered - nothing left above her jawline, so how did somebody determine that she had a concussion? Also, there was only ONE other witness; the shooter who could have verified her story of "seeking help" and NOWHERE in that deposition/interrogation did he say she was looking for help or any of the other details in this account. So AGAIN, WHO gave the account of the events from the accident to the fatal shooting?

I can picture myself waking up out of a dead sleep and in my mind thinking someone is trying to get in my house. I think it was neglect of a gun owner but he didn’t ask fir someone to come to his house banging that late. People do weird shit when scared and possibly sleep deprived. If I went to a house at that time of the morning banging in a bad neighborhood I would think there’s a potential for me to get clapped. I’m light skin black and I would have tried to make my way to a busier intersection if possible. Its a fucked up situation I got kids that age. RIP to the young lady 🙏

If I had a random drunk, concussed person knocking on and trying my doors and windows in the middle of the night, I'd be bugged out too.
