Yeeesss! A video on how to fall would be awesome. 🙌 This video also helped a lot, especially when you said “when you’re balanced you might feel as if you have gone too far”

It's officially on my "KZbin video ideas" list! And yeah that's a very common thing I see with newbie handstands -- they get spotted and pulled to vertical, and they freak out because they think they're falling. But actually it's because you have to have a good deal of weight in your fingers. It's a big part of handstanding -- learning to use your fingers!

I can totally see the 'feeling like you're too far over' is the sweet spot. I've felt that when practicing pincha over and over and it was when I got my first short holds. But wow, the amount of work that goes into producing a video like this! 🤯🙌

Yesss!! It feels so scary but then you....DON'T FALL. And you realise that's where the balance actually is! Such a cool feeling And thank you for this appreciation!! These videos I've been uploading recently take about 3-4 days in all to make. Maybe with practice I'll streamline it and it'll get faster! It's like anything else isn't it; we just gotta keep doing our best and trust it gets easier with practice hehe

Yesss a video of falling in the papa bear's too hot porridge style would be great🙏 I'm already struggling with kicking up, so I don't even get to practise falling over backwards

Oohhh yeah! I’m definitely afraid of falling, but I’m get closer and closer each time to letting myself actually go full throttle into a fall with a specific arm balance I’m learning. A little giggle and “Ppfffft” goes a long way with regulating myself when I’m nervous after each attempt! Love you and all of the knowledge you share!

Love youuuu!! Maybe one day I can work with you IRL and help you learn to fall. It's honestly best with a spotter! Maybe get yourself to a gymnastics gym that has open gym times or adult classes and use the pit area to practice falling. I've done that as well with clients!

I watched this for handstands but also I have some adrenal issues and currently in permanent flight or fight mode. Hmm this is interesting, perhaps I can rewire and get control again. Thanks for sparking a thought Adell. 🙏

Such a great insight! Yes! In fact, numerous studies show that stress isn't the problem so much as *perceived* stress. So if we can just view whatever it is we're feeling or going through as "a challenge to rise to" or "excitement" or "an adventure" or whatever else, then the stress isn't so harmful!

@@AdellBridges thankyou for replying Adell. I will see whether I can find a way to do it. It won’t fix the adrenal problem (autoimmune problems mean I am attacking my adrenal glands) but can possibly change the impacts it has on me. ❤️❤️🙏

I've been failing at handstand for so long I'm comfortable falling in any direction, I just can't figure out the balance. I struggle with balance in any challenging balance pose. I think I may have an inner ear issue. I've tried the proprioception exercises with Celeste. Nothing seems to help
@AdellBridges
@AdellBridges 23 күн бұрын
That's not uncommon! I've seen this a lot. Have you tried just fighting for the balance like your life depends on it? From a brain-based approach, we can appreciate that the brain LOVES habits and patterns, and often we get into a habit of falling, and we just need to break that habit and build one where we fight fight fight for that balance! I think of gymnasts on the balance beam in the Olympics, doing everything they can not to fall after they land slightly off to the side! Give that a try and let me know how it goes! You'll find you use a lot more muscles that maybe you weren't using before 😉
