The Most Underrated Part of Wales | Mid-Wales Travel Guide

Join us on an exploration of the most underrated part of Wales, none other than Mid-Wales. Packed full of beautiful scenery, unique locations, and more! Enjoy
Firstly, the Elan Valley. We'll visit the impressive Caban-Coch dam and the lesser known exploded dam, Nant-y-Gro, that was bombed during WWII, we also marvel at the stunning Claerwen Dam. Then, we'll head to one of the oldest towns of wales, Rhayader for lunch and a wander around the shops.
In the afternoon, we'll embark on a sunset hike up an unnamed hill (that my granddad has creatively named 'THE BONK' years ago). From the summit, we'll enjoy breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside. It's the perfect way to end a perfect day.
I filmed this video in August, so we were blessed with beautiful sun throughout! This video is for anyone who loves beautiful scenery, outdoor activities, and hidden gems. If you're looking for a new place to explore in Wales, I highly recommend the Elan Valley.

Elan Valley is one of our favourites, we visit when we stay at the in-laws. I also cycle from Llandrindod Wells around the lakes. Stunning!

Mind you the Elan is a great little river - see 'Wild Elan Way' on my channel if you want to know what the source is like. So, good to see you on Llandegley Rocks. That's what the Bonk is called. Thanks for watching, Mark! I never knew the real name of Llandegley Rocks but I've honestly lost count of how many times I climbed it (must be at least 30 times). It's a beautiful spot. I've checked out your video of the Wild Elan Way, great to get a closer look at some unique spots that I've always driven past but never seen properly!

@AlexTravels1 ah yes I searched it turns out it is in Scotland. Although I noticed you visited a hut on the Pembrokeshire coast. You'll know what I'm talking about. It was used for some scenes in his dark materials.
