THE MOST VALUBLE CORNFLOWER GEMS IN SRI LANKA

Actually all new gem businessmen know about blue sapphire. And there are different colors. Today we discuss about cornflower blue sapphire. Today I will discuss about how to select cornflower blue sapphire at the gem market.
I will show you how does cornflower blue sapphire differ from other gems. Now you can see many blue color gems in this plate. At the top line there are royal blue sapphire gems. These are dark blue color.
Next two lines’ gem stones are consisted with blue color and reduce the dark color. It is just like a corn flower blue color. In this cornflower blue also has a color range.
You can see the third quality blue sapphire at the next line. At the last line there are fancy.
Next we will discuss how to have a gem certificate for the blue sapphire. You can see royal blue sapphire certificates and corn flower blue sapphire gem certificates. It is very important to mention that the natural corundum and the color of the gem at the certificate when we do international trade. It is very important to mention the color as royal blue or cornflower blue when we value the gem stone. So in every time you should have a gem certificate.
When we buy a gem at the gem market specially at Rathnapura; we have to concern following things.
1. The color of the gem stone.
2. Whether is it natural corn flower or burned cornflower blue sapphire?
Sometime the color may be stated at the one side of the stone. So we should careful to buy a gem stone with spread the color over the stone.
3. For the international trade when we buy a cut and polish gem stone we have to concern that it shout be recut as suitable for foreign trade.
As an example when we buy 1 point gems atone it may be less weighted after re-cutting. So we should buy a gem stone with more than 1 point weighted stone.
4. The shape of the gem stone. There are many shape and these shapes have different values. One thing is round shape. Another shapes are oval, square, octagon, pear, heart and triangular.
5. The highest of the gem stone.
6. Gem stone should be less from errors.
7. Gem stone should be without fouls. When we look the gemstone from the table there should not be fouls at the bottom of the stone.
8. The gem stone should be a natural gem stone.
9. We should concern to have a gem stone. Before we buy a certificate we should identify the high valued gem stone at the gem market.
10. When we buy blue sapphire we should careful to buy from a trusted seller. Because many gem sellers are cheating new comers to the market.
