Fantastic - i often fall into trap of using umbrellas and softboxes as many of the models/actors prefer or have been ageny advised to have shots that are soft and shadowless for a commercia style bight lit look. I always like to add in though some creative looks at the end of the session - your video is a great reminder of using my Rogue gear in interesting ways and experimenting once got the main shots in the bag. Love the simplicity of the setup too allowing me to focus on the look and mood and less about balancing multiple speedlites

It's great gear for creative solutions indeed. They can be used in standard settings but really shine in flexibility.

Tape a white shower curtain to it for a big softbox effect.

Better is to place it a few feet away otherwise it's still a small lightsource. Just taping something large for a small lightsource doesn't make it large. I've done this during several workshops. Placing a bare light 1 mtr away from a translucent screen gives a very soft light quality.

@@FrankDoorhof I don't think you understand what I mean - fire the flash into the flashbender with the top bent over and the light bouncing from the bender illuminates a large part of the shower curtain, making it a much bigger source.

No idea if that will work. It would be just a few inches.

@@FrankDoorhof try it! When you make a Signature shower curtain, I want 50%! Seriously, they make a great reflector, diffuser and flag which takes up almost no room in your bag. The silver foil emergency blankets work well too, if you've got no room for a light stand and no white walls you can just tape it to the wall and put the flash on the floor below it and get a nice soft spread of light. It's saved my bacon a few times.
