Lethwei is a striking sport from Myanmar which allows for full-force headbutts. Think Muay Thai on steroids. In this clip, Joe Rogan and Cory Sandhagen discus Dave Leduc, one of the most deadly strikers on the planet. Bonus part about Mark Coleman.

Lethwei (Burmese: လက်ဝှေ့; IPA: [lɛʔ.ʍḛ]) or Burmese boxing is a full contact combat sport from Myanmar that uses stand-up striking including headbutts.[1] Lethwei is considered to be one of the most brutal martial arts in the world,[2] as the sport is practiced bareknuckle with only tape and gauze while fighters are allowed to strike with their fists, elbows, knees, and feet, and the use of headbutts is also permitted.[3][4] Disallowed in most combat sports, headbutts are important weapons in a Lethwei fighter's arsenal, giving Lethwei its name of the "Art of nine limbs".[5][6][7] This, combined with its bareknuckle nature, gave Lethwei a reputation for being one of the bloodiest and most violent martial arts.[8][9] Although popular throughout modern Myanmar, Lethwei has been primarily and historically associated with the Karen people of the Kayin State; vast majority of competitive Lethwei fighters are ethnolinguistically of Karen descent.[10][11][4]

Headbutts are extremely effective in combat. Realistically in a real combat situation you can do anything. Groin strikes, hair pulling, kicking them when they're down and headbutts.

That logic is how every martial art made sour grapes out of failing in real fights. Similar to how band geek shat on Nirvana for only knowing 3 chords. The purpose of fighting is to defeat the opponent. The purpose of music is to entertain. Focusing on arbitrary "skills" is how losers hide from the real contest.

And your headbutt, just like any strike has to be trained. You have to make sure from your eyebrows up meets your opponents nose and down on there face. You don't want to hit the skull. It will not feel good. And you want to keep your neck straight, don't whip your neck into it. It should be a slight dip, then a push up with your legs, just like other strikes the power is from your legs.

@@Xannyphantom905 Something folks on the internet seem to misunderstand is how vast the influence of Kungfu really is. There are hundreds of Kungfu/Gongfu styles out there, with wrestling, joint locking, striking, and everything in between. The key is finding good quality instructors that have practical combat experience. A little snippet of history that many folks also don't know is that Bokator/Thai boxing/Muay Boran was intertwined with Kungfu styles centuries ago. There are ethnic regions to this day in China that have tribal Gongfu styles that look extremely similar to Muay Boran. Another fun fact, one of the best K1 kickboxing teachers in the world is also a Karate/Shaolin Kungfu man (Sifu Robert McInnes). Sifu McInnes has taught legends like Peter Aerts (among many other champions across many years). Two of the greatest kickboxers of the 80s and 90s were also Kungfu fighters (Don the Dragon Wilson and Manson Gibson). One of the early No Holds Barred UFC fighters was also a Kungfu man, and he won by finish in both of his bouts (Onassis Parungao, Hung Gar Kungfu Practitioner).
