I'm completely with the daughters and I was born in 1957. I find it a nightmare that women's rights, which were fought for, have been taken away from my daughters and granddaughters. The one in this group who seems to be lacking in critical thinking skill would be the mother. I don't think she has done a deep dive into what MAGA is capable of. The daughters and their friend looked deeply uncomfortable listening to the mother. I felt for them!

I cannot imagine living in a household or even having the closest members of my family being on the extreme spectrum of the other major party. As an European I was watching and hoping that common sense and critical thinking will result in a positive election result, but hearing the mother and now knowing that over 70 million Americans are sooooo deep into the Trump cult and their own universe it kinda makes sense. I'd be interested in how many eligible Americans skipped this election. I guess, let's just wait and see if he delivers all he promised. To me his world peace in 24 hours strategy will be interesting to watch since Ukraine is my country's neighbour and we definitely don't want Russia to become our neighbour.

Unfortunately, the monkey showed the organ-grinder just how pliable the public can be so they (The Heritage Foundation) won't need that particular monkey once Project 2025's in place. By then Ukraine, Gaza and Taiwan will be history, with the rest of the world not far behind due to their attitude to climate change mitigation. It's a bleak day.

I think it also has alot to do with the difference in generations . Someone boen in the 1960's was raised differently from someone born in the 90's and it always shows in their debating one another.

I was born in 1947 and we had hardly any rights, no Roe v Wade until we fought for it in the 1960's and 1970's. We couldn't have a credit card and some state we couldn't own property. Jobs were advertised for men and for women jobs. We didn't have Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps until 1965 and the Voting Rights Act under President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Born in the 1990's and you're riding and taking your rights we fought for fro granted !

Not sure how reading my comment u assumed I was speaking about myself because nowhere in my comment does it say I was talking about me. Second I agree with every other thing you said and at no point in my life have I ever taken for granted the women who fault to give me the rights I have. My comment was about the video and other situations like it. Older generations were raised completely different then younger ones which is why they see things so differently. @TimVeatch Neither you nor Michelle can state that with any certainty, but it will be fascinating to see a breakdown of the vote by age (and other demographics). We know for a fact that older generations are always more likely to vote Republican, but that will not be the whole story of course. If it's anything like the Brexit referendum it could reveal the propensity of Boomers who still yearn for a mythical past that never existed (as well as the disaffected youth who swallow the same Kool-Aid) voting against their own interests and those of the younger generations. Whilst many Boomers are quite sensible, there is a significant proportion of them who still struggle to recognise that US "news" sources haven't had to tell the truth since Reagan removed the Fairness Doctrine, and their ability to sift nonsense on social media is lamentable. Again, that cannot explain the entire shift but may be an element of it.
