From Klein&, local movie opens that aired on some Group W and Post-Newsweek stations, sorted by themes; generic, western, action, and comedy. There is also a Scifi version that I have to find.

I remember seeing this kxtv channel 1O theme about 4O years ago around 198O late at night when it was pass bedtime, especially watching late night movies and falling asleep later afterwards, Wow 4O years already, Gee whiz, time just zooms by so very fast. Time seems to go by even faster now in this day and age. Golly.

I always thought it was KOVR ABC 13 Sunday matinee but I would have been 7 or 8 at the time.

I think that would be correct as to the start date, at WDVM we used them well into the 80s.

This also aired on WFSB-TV Channel 3. The CBS affiliate in Hartford, Connecticut. At that time a Post-Newsweek station. Early 1980s. This aired Saturday nights and was usually followed by a terrific Klein & produced promo for the station. "The Land Of The 3". Praying that promo appears here soon. One of the best produced image campaigns for a local station. Another great WFSB promo eyeontv has posted here: WFSB Your News Is our News - Eyewitness News.

I only remember the tap dancing one and the western ones airing on the west coast on KOVR ABC 13 during Sunday afternoon matinees. It's cool to see the many variations of this theme that I haven't seen before👍

@roccot2 It was WKRC-12. They were second only to independent (now Fox) station WXIX-19 in heavy movie programming - at one time, they had an afternoon slot, a Saturday prime late night (followed by the infamous "Past Prime Playhouse"), and a Sunday afternoon block. Yeah, remember these promos well, though most of the time they only used the generic and the comedy bumpers, rarely any of the others.

Heh, I like the comedy one. The action one is cool too, though it probably scared the crap out of kids because that panther leaps right out at you, lol!

Does anyone know what channel the movies aired on in Cincinnati, I believe it was WLWT-5 but correct me if i am wrong. I am from that area and would love to know. I live in Syracuse ny and have since 1981 and this aired on WIXT-9 until 1996.
