For this fifth episode of the companion podcast to HBO Max’s The Murders at White House Farm, host Lauren Bright Pacheco talks to series writer Kris Mrksa to dive into the psychology of the case and the many different people involved. Kris discusses his processes for bringing the various different characters involved to life - including Jeremy Bamber’s complex and confusing personality - as well as his approach to depicting Sheila Caffell’s mental health struggles. Talking in turn about all of the major players in the case, Kris discusses what it was like to tread the fine line between reality and its onscreen counterpart, his processes for getting inside the characters’ heads, and what he means by “the slippery nature of truth.” #TheMurdersAtWhiteHouseFarm

I admire Colin Caffell - he overcame tremendous grief and went on to have a happy marriage, a daughter and a successful career as a counsellor and a sculptor

Colin left his pregenant wife for another woman. Maybe that should have been added, to take the shine off that saint colin presentation in the show

Tried the platform and found it to be very lacking for how it had been presented prior to release. I would say HBO MAX is not worth your money. Please seek out better alternatives.

Because he was a posh Git he thought himself above the average Joe. Simply thought his sister would get blamed.

Those two adopted kids appreciated nothing - many people would give their right arm to have had the education and chances those two were given

They were babies when adopted - the new non-biological parental caregivers then raised them - and the father was a dominating bully and the mother, a religious nutcase - BOTH children were severely damaged. Boarding school will have added to this toxic mix - Boarding school syndrome produces some VERY emotionally defunct men (look at many in the tory government, yuck)

No he isn't and no it isn't. Jeremy's own alleged phone call from his father doesn't match the evidence. There was no blood on the phone, the father had already been shot 4 times including in the face before he even gets close to the kitchen, the cordless phone that should have been in the kitchen had a memory feature but it was missing (Jeremy said it was being repaired) and a rotary phone taken from another room was in its place, and his father had somehow failed to mention in his phone call that he had already been shot four times. At this point you have a staged crime scene. Why is that important? It's important because it is inconsistent with a mass murder suicide.

There was no ‘blood spatter’ on Sheila‘s nightgown. And she couldn’t handle a rifle, let alone shoot her whole family, including torturing her father.

@@Tradeofjane So how did Jeremy escape a house with doors and windows secured from the inside? Police claimed he exited through the kitchen window which was found locked on its latches and the stuff around the window and draining board undisturbed. No blood or footprints found in the window sill either. He would have had blood splashes on him at least if he battered and shot people which would have rubbed off on anything he came into contact with.

@@MsDormy She couldn't handle a rifle? Those things are easy to use. It isn't a shotgun.

@@hannahjames3180 No, police said he ENTERED the house through a window. He didn't need to exit the house through the window as he could of easily have walked out the front door locking it behind him.
