You know, what it seems to me here is that in fact agent 8 of the protocol will be this being in the hourglass cage. Which raises doubts as to how this could be possible. Many people believe that Agent 8 is alive and in contact with Brim, but what I theorize here goes against that. For all of this to marry and make sense, at least in my view, it seems to me that the protocol never even had an agent 8, but that protocol number was purposely skipped on Brimstone's orders. This "agent 8" is actually the first one. What I believe is that the number 8 was never filled in in the protocol or if it was filled the member is actually dead, as it seems to have something to do with Brim's former friend, the same one in his office photos, who was most likely known as "number 8" during the academy from K-Sec, where Brim recruited himself while working with Kingdom. The one in the cage makes animal grunts, probably the sixth lost radivore from Sunset that can change its shape. One of the goons before he died calls Omen a "monster", which indicates that they were studying Omen before he arrived at the Elder Grotto, but it could also be a node to the radivore in containment, which has almost the same shape as Omen. The animal was probably based on descriptions by containment personnel and images and ended up taking this humanoid form, which led to him being moved from the common cages found at bombsite A to that special cage away. We already know the rest of the story, the protocol invades the base and bullets break containment. That Agent 8 never even existed until then is plausible, as there is no reference to him or her at all, and not even Viper makes any mention of it, because this issue of "8" is more personal to Brimstone, not hers. Out of respect for him, she just complied, after all, it doesn't make so much difference having each agent organized in a numerical order or not. This being will definitely be the next sentry according to the agents' launch order and in some way "shapeshifting" will be involved in some skill (maybe ultimate) but I don't know in what aspect, I just know that he has to protect the bombsite from some way lol

But isnt the dev said agent 8 is alive? And will be back soon when they return? Mean someone trapped them? Or they lost? Or maybe they got kicked by sage and brim.

I’m still wondering what happened the the eyepatch guy in the episode 8 cinematic. He never actually see him hit the ground. I was thinking he could be the person in that hourglass cage thingy? But idk because the game files say otherwise.

I think I could see it but on ascent you usually want to fight for mid. I doubt you'll be doing a lot mid fighting on abyss. I could be wrong though. Who knows how meta play will turn out since the map is like 1 week old.
