i remember being sooo into pro era & 1999 when i was the same age as joey, since we were both born in 95. i remember how much listening to joey n steez talk & rap helped me realize truths about myself and find a ground of talented, intuitive people in my area to collab with. their story is crazy & inspiring n im glad i got to experience it.

Me personally I don't think when he said steez thought he was dreaming was talking about drugs I think he means it in a more spiritual way I believe that steez traveled through spirituality so fast and saw the truth to all of the negative things in this world without someone explaining things to him he just got so deep to where he genuinely believed that he was something way bigger then just his physical form to a point where everyday he felt like he was dreaming in a physical realm and he wanted to wake up this is the problem with pyschedlics you can open your mind so much to the point to where it's bad for you and you'll never be the same because you see how corrupted and how failed of a society we are on this earth you see the lies and you see no compassion no love for others

STEEZ’s death is so bizarre to me. It seems really strange that there’s not a lot of information about it. I truly believe if STEEZ was still here, he’d be up there with this generation’s greats like Kendrick and Cole. STEEZ’s music connects with me and I’m not really sure why. It goes beyond just liking the way it sounds. I feel like his music is being sent to me. I’m not religious, but it’s a weird feeling to describe. I want to be able to rap as good as STEEZ one day. He was an incredible lyricist and he inspires me to keep making my own songs. I’m not a very good rapper yet, but I’ll keep practicing. I hope King Capital drops some day. I want to hear it so bad. RIP STEEZ, you’re one of my all time favourite emcees. Does anyone else feel like listening to STEEZ’s music is a spiritual experience?
@zzzzf99309
@zzzzf99309 2 жыл бұрын
I highly doubt he’d be up with Kendrick and Cole. He wasn’t marketable but Joey was and even Joey isn’t up there with the greats even though he should be. He was probably the most lyrically talented in the group Joey coming in second by a little bit but Talent doesn’t always guarantee mainstream success. Joey hasn’t even fully achieved that

@@Will-bn9km yeah I’m not debating his music quality I’m debating his ability to break into the mainstream. I'm a latin american teen and I just discovered Capital Steez today through an IG post about how he could have been one of the greatest. When I read that he passed away the way he did, I immediately thought about what happend to Cancerbero, a legendary Venezuelan rapper that "jumped off a building in weird conditions". Take care of that type of artists guys, because they are taking them away from us. Try to learn about politics and be open to listen new perspectives, we all can make a change in our own lanes. Rest in Peace.

Issa talks about it a bit on his album Tempus. Couldn’t imagine texting my friend who is about to take his life and try to talk to him about it then have people come out with crazy conspiracy theories about what happened. Sometimes you just can’t reach people. I used to think about those conspiracies and realized how fucked up they are to think. Given where he grew up and the things going on around him he found the only way out was to take his life. I had fun off some of those psychadelics too but they definitely started to take their toll on me and I could really see how it could have happened now. Depression sucks. In my opinion, it totally is. I believe celebrities and rappers specifically are at the forefront of people who have the most influence in the world. I hear a lot about this idea that Steez felt bad because Joey got more promotion and was considered more marketable. People need to understand one thing about this claim: Steez would have had a place in hip hop no matter what. He didn't reach his peak lyrical ability and yet his fanbase has only grown over the years. Looking at the praise Steez gets now, it's clear to me that he would have always had a job working as a rapper.

Judging by his subject matter, it does t seem like he wanted to even be mainstream. It seems like he knew all that shit was fake and controlled, he just loved to rap and spread his messages of spirituality and symbolism. Exactly, he may not be getting some corny features with some singer who's popular for 5 minutes, he would be a true hip hop figure. Not a puppet for already which disgusting people to profit off. I could never see him going down the mainstream route, he's do it for the love and inner peace more than anything. If he got to far deep into that extremely brutal and weird world of the big corps it would have had a very bad effect on his mental health to an extent that is may have just drawn out the pain and confusion. Twisting his perception on what's real.

Yeah i think it's just a sad story of someone putting everything they had into it something, being incredibly good and successful at it at the beginning, but ultimately not reaching as much success as they though they deserved. It also doesn't help when you're around people who entertain or validate all the spiritural nonsense you think. Like ffs, people talk about these rappers like they really had the metaphysics figured out at 19 from watching youtube videos. It's easy to see how his mind got fucked into thinking suicide was a good choice. They were all kids.
