Ikr?! Rogue waves are not mysterious... especially in an area where they're known to exceed well over 30 metres in height sometimes. 2 keepers were outside in their oilskins fixing the equipment on the landing platform while the 3rd was making lunch. Obviously he saw the rogue wave coming and ran outside so fast to warn the others that his chair overturned... then all 3 were simply washed away. Not a mystery at all. The other one I get sick of is "Roanoke" - there is NO mystery! JFC, they even left a note saying that they went to Croatoa to seek help from the natives so they wouldn't die by starving or freezing when winter hit and White hadn't returned with supplies. John White didn't return for 3 whole years - what did he expect them to do??!! Total BS that he did not care enough to go looking for them nearby and instead declared to the entire world that they all "just mysteriously vanished" and therefore he bore NO responsibility for what happened to them... probably because he'd NEVER, ever accept the mere possibility that he had half-breed grandbabies by then, imho. It's really quite sad that even hundreds of years later some folks still buy his lies and perpetuate his myth, nevermind the many Croatoan descendants with blond hair & blue eyes whose DNA is half English... SMH. The man made himself out to be some kind of hero when he was really just a lying POS.
