As a long time follower of Yandere Simulator who took a break from keeping up with development for a while, I did infact think Yandere dev straight up dissapered from the internet after 1980s mode based on his KZbin posting schedule. It wasn't till I downloaded the game for the first time and saw that the game was updating consistently that I realized he just wasn't posting. It's been an Intresting play experience since i'd been following development since the 5th grade and only now actually get to play the game as someone graduated from highschool. I expected it to feel cringy and juvenile but 1980s mode was very fun and exiting to play through as a longtime fan obsessed with the lore. Anyway, glad to see that development is continuing at a slow but consistent pace and can't wait to play the full game when it finally comes out.

I mean...well...kinda. Yandere Simulator is the type of game that is made available while in an incomplete state, and then regularly updated with new content for a long time. There have been many games like this: Dwarf Fortress, Minecraft, Project Zomboid, etc. In fact, I would argue that even games like Genshin Impact fit into this category. The story mode isn't complete, but it gets updated every couple of weeks with new events/locations/characters, etc. It doesn't make sense to say "When are you finally going to finish the game?!" and other things like that, because Yandere Simulator is simply the type of game that periodically receives new features, new activities, new characters, new weapons, quality-of-life improvements, etc. Some games are supported long-term with updates and new content. That's the kind of game that Yandere Simulator became. To be honest, I don't see anything wrong with that. I feel that a continuously-expanding game is far more meaningful than a game where you just stab 10 girls and then you're done. By the way - there is a mode within Yandere Simulator where you can eliminate 10 rivals and see the credits roll. A complete story mode with a proper beginning/middle/end. If that's your criteria for a "finished" game, then Yandere Simulator is already "finished" in that sense. See, I knew you were more than likely in the deep mines of coding, which is why I was never worried. Game's take Alot of time to make which alot of people tend to forget at times.
