I'm alive today because my mom trusted her instincts and took me to another hospital after an ER doctor told her that I had the flu and sent us home. I always loved the way my dad told this story! He'd say "...so we get in the car and I looked at her and said: We're not going home, are we?" This happened in 1970.

we almost lost my dad to nec fash recently. it started as a tiny cut and coz he was on massive dose of predniselone for another ailment, he had no immune system. his arm from elbow down swelled and turned purple. the doc opened his hand to relieve pressure when he discovered the black tissue. he kept dad on life support n flew him to a major city hospital. he was on life support for over 2 weeks and had daily operations to debride more n more tissue. it was touch n go for weeks. his organs started shutting down. he fought and had amazing doctors and he pulled thru.

Awful disease. When I was in the hospital with a SCI I met two patients with severe amputations and one of them had skin scarring like a fire survivor. Both had been ravaged by necrotizing fasciitis, one of them from strep throat (bacterial tonsillitis). They were like 40. Their entire lives turned upside down even though they were happy to have survived.

My 10 year old daughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed October 6, 2023 when she was 9. A day and a half later I was in the second ER ( because rural healthcare is a joke and the first one sent her home). She crashed and after blood work she was diagnosed with sepsis and pneumonia. I am so so so grateful my intuition was working full force and told me something was very wrong!!! She got antibiotics before it got realllllllllly bad and spent a couple weeks in a pediatric ICU. I betcha it was from the constant bouts of strep throat she had that year leading up to her tonsillectomy. I’m pretty sure she was a carrier. It kept getting worse each time she had strep throat before surgery. Even purplish splotches all over her face and body.

So far as I know, the venom of the brown recluse spider has some very powerful toxins which are the real issue, but after the venom has taken effect and attacked tissue,7 then that dead tissue may indeed become colonized by all sorts of pathogenic organisms including bacteria and fungi. That does not imply that these are the cause of the trauma cycle. They are probably secondary infections, opportunistic in their role in the disease process.

At 35:00, Nurse Betty Vickers stated that the city's expansion must have introduced a foreign strain of Streptococcus. 🤦 This claim is deeply misleading. There’s no such thing as "regional immunity" to Streptococcus-or any viral, bacterial, or fungal pathogen. Immune responses depend solely on an individual's previous exposure to specific strains, not geography. If someone’s immune system has encountered a particular strain before, it might respond more effectively. If not, an unfamiliar strain can still cause illness regardless of where it originated. Let’s be clear: the location is irrelevant-it’s the immune system’s exposure history that matters. Moreover, exposure to pathogens is never beneficial for the host. The notion that any exposure helps immunity is a dangerous misunderstanding of how infections actually work.

That's correct, and if you replay that section of the video, it's clearly pointed out that there was a possibility that the population boom may have contributed to the introduction of these types of Group A Strep, because nobody was immune to it. Dr. Lawler discovered this after hearing from officials in Canada who used Clindamycin to treat these two Group A strept infections and the toxins they produce.
