Very cool, while watching, I was thinking they look similar to the Gravely’s we had on our family farm years ago. Pretty cool story thanks for sharing this one.

I've recently gotten back into these things. they're kind of fun to fix up and they do a great job and people will pay $500 or 600 bucks for one fixed up. I'm getting ready to watch your road trip video... it's busy busy in Florida!

This is Kenny Davis they had to put commercial on the deck due to a commercial mower needed less safety regulations.

oh hey Kenny Davis, I know you from the Facebook group. I still need to get with you and get some rollers for the self-propelled. I live in Bradenton and I know you're back and forth through here. thanks for watching the video though. I actually got some of the photos from things you posted on Facebook. I hope you don't mind.

@greasebellygarage no I don't mind I seen some of the photos and said this guy has been on the page. I'll let you know when I go back down there.

Yazoo had the original big wheel push mower with a Clinton engine, Some had dual pulleys and belts. Some were self propelled, up to 26 inch cut.. Key came much later, but still awesome go anywhere, great mowing machine.

I've heard of Yazoo mowers but I've never personally seen one. I guess I ought to take the time to Google that. I've heard good things about them though. there was also another brand that had a pyramid shaped blade that I saw once when I was young. I don't remember the name for the life of me. it was also a big wheeled mower but it had more like a saw blade instead of a lawn mower blade with breakaway rivets.

@@greasebellygarage . Enjoyed your video. Very informative. Brought back some memories. My dad finally got a big wheel but it was craftsman with a 4 hp, 22" cut, but not heavy enough to handle tall grass. He'd find me yards to cut, but neither of us were mechanics. I was a red head, and like your helper, red heads are rough of equipment. Thanks for posting a great video.

I just remembered. I went to school first through 9th grade at Indiantown School, Stuckey, SC. The groundskeeper had a Yazoo big wheel mower with a sit down sulky.

@buddybrowne2508 yeah my red-headed friend Paul broke that lawn mower within 2 minutes of using it. it's actually pretty comical. thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching I appreciate it. when I was a kid I had to cut grass with an old 20-in front drive self-propelled mower I don't even think I'm capable of doing that anymore lol.

@buddybrowne2508 if you want to see something really cool Google "manco riding mower" they made those here in Bradenton Florida as well probably back in the '40s and '50s and I've never seen them before and sold today. looks like a bar stool attached to a go-kart with a mowing deck on it very cool

Wow cool mowers. It seems very simple and easy to work on. Mowing damp or wet grass is never fun. I would not even attempt.

these are the best mowers ever made in my opinion.... the 20 and 22 inch are effortless to push.

OMG that exact same thing happened on my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan last summer. Was driving in a nice residential area and I had just pulled away from a stop sign and with a very loud BANG the right side sliding door window just exploded. I have no idea why or how it happened. Took forever to get it repaired because nobody had that part in stock. I've heard of large panoramic sunroofs doing the same thing. I think it's defective glass.

I think it's stress when it's installed and heating and cooling cycles. it had just started raining heavy when it shattered. I'll see you in the stream this weekend t455!
