Travis originally planned for Megatron to be on Cybertron, but then had to change it later due to BB still being connected to the Bayverse at the time. However, that then went completely out the window when TLK failed.

I actually think (more so hope ngl 😅) Megatron will appear in the next movie or at the very least get mentioned by the Decepticons. This design looks phenomenal and menacing ! The colours are great, the robot mode is amazing, the tank is perfect and the jet looks pretty cool. Like you said, a plane would have been better and make him even more unique. I really want to see him in action on the big screen !

​@PepeGibonsounds like a great idea. Recentering on the Autobot VS Decepticons after ROTB is the best choice in ly opinion. ROTB gave us a larger picture of the wide TF universe to the average audience (maybe too early, that's up for debate) and it will be interesting to see how Optimus continues his development now that he knows even bigger threats than the Decepticons exist somewhere in the universe.

I remember Travis Knight said in an interview that he wanted Megatron to be on Cybertron destroying every Autobot on site, kind of like Sauron from The Lord of the Rings. That was one of their ideas for the movie, but it was sadly scrapped. They were almost finish with the end credit scene of Megatron being frozen, but they sadly didn’t put the model and never finish the scene because of the controversy of The Last Knight. That’s all the plans for Megatron being in the Bee movie, Really is a shame that we didn’t get this amazing model for this amazing character. Also Fire Brothers, they got to make a SS concept 2007 Arcee Please🙏

My guess is that, even though this figure is based on the concept art of megatron in ice, they want to distance themselves from the bumblebee movie's prequel preproduction phase so they can still fit him into the established canon of the reboot the movie became, since this design is more than likely gonna be the basis for this continuity's version of megatron. So they just gave him a background of cybertron to avoid confusion.

I assume he's in Cybertron falls because the Hoover dam wasn't the only scrap scene for megs. When the riders realized it needed to be a reboot and they started adding in the Cybertron scenes, that's where they were going to put Megatron instead as like a big threat that drops in halfway through the battle, however, it was cut

I think Megatron was supposed to be on Earth at the Hover Dam, however once they changed the film into a reboot and added the Cybertron scenes, at some point they decided to add Megatron to the scene but it didn’t get finished in time. Also might be a reference to the deleted scene with Transit where he reveals Megatron is ruling Cybertron

I think the reason he appears frozen even in the cgi model is because as said the movie was originally going to be connected to boomboomverse, after they decided it will be a reboot the idea was scrapped since showing megatron incased in ice would resolt in confusion and even if people fully understood bumblebee was a reboot it would be weird for them to use a very specific bayverse idea, when the idea was scrapped they decided he should have been on cybertron somewhere and that's why he comes with a cybertron background #Giveaway

The scene mentions the fall of Cybertron because Travis night said he storyboarded a scene with Megatron decimating Autobots, very Sauron-like, but then the studio stopped him because of the continuity at the time. So that scene was storyboarded, but probably never went into animation.

So a theory that I have as to why Megatron has a Cybertron falls backdrop rather than sector 7 is because the original plan was for Megatron to drop in and give the command for the decepticons to attack. But then they said no wait we have to tie this into 2007 so they replaced Megatron with Soundwave.

God... I hope they pick up his story from sector 7. In the Rotb sequel I mean. I hope that they decide to keep him on Earth. He was there all along. During the events of the Bumblebee movie and Rise of the Beasts. It give me chills to think what would have happened if the Decepticons found out he was THERE. Meters away. Because the Decepticons were looking for Bumblebee or Autobots in general in that movie. They discover Megatron is in the next room and imidiately change their plans. "Fuck the Autobots, we call in the reinforcement NOW!!!"

My theory is that megatron was on cybertron at the beginning of the Bumblebee movie and that's probably why the autobots were trying to push foward against the decepticons before having to retreat cos megatron might have discovered from shockwave that earth has a hidden supply of energon or Megatron crashed to earth with blitzwing to set a trap and destroy the new autobot base 🤔
