I love going to Massanutten. I own a Memorial Day week for 6 in the golfing area, and a floating week for 12 in the ski area. No matter your unit is, there is a pool, park, etc. nearby. Regretfully, my weeks often go unused because I live so far away and family work and school schedules do not always allow them to go. It's a truly gorgeous resort that if it's not too long a drive, I'd go even just by myself.

I'm all for an unspoiled wilderness area, regardless of how it happened. Maybe Bigfoot had a relative in Congress in the 1800s? Beautiful pond at 5:29. Another place on my to-hike list.

I guess it depends on the access. If there are layers of access for all of the public, then yes. 90% of the valley doesn’t have reasonable access to drive to decent view on Massanutten. Doesn’t seem right. Pay $30 for SNP or hike, (and OHV) Massanutten. So if you don’t OHV or hike, you’re without significant access to one of the most unique and historical ridge lines in Virginia. Here’s a better point, why doesn’t anyone care? And that’s the part that I find the most interesting, and that’s when we get into the official narrative, and the blurry history. Getting to the bottom of it is a lot bigger than a YT video. It’s a book for someone else to write! So even my interest (overall) is weak.

Thanks for another interesting video Bill and Caroline. Hope is gaining ground as a happy child who laughs a lot. She may be lacking in some progress aspects but is a special love bug who enjoys music and giggles. A Gift from God. Thanks to you and all those who have lifted her up before God. Still some struggles...but hey. You're a good man Bill. Sorry...my phone is wet

We're still praying for her Mark! I can't wait to get back to the windmill stuff. It's finally fixed. I just need to script out what I want to do. The build up was wasted. But oh well. I'll have to come up with something else!

@@BillMarion my Mom gave me a piece of time from Japan. She's 90 years old now, it's an Ogi-san lamp ( Ogi-san means old man) we lived in Japan while I was in the third grade, I have to repair it. It's my touchstone to the past much like your windmill.

There are plenty of paved roads on Mass Mtn. Fort Valley Rd. is a paved Rd. and all the roads off of it are paved. You should actually go check out the mountain.

Are you sure you weren't in WV? lol. Seriously though, the area looks beautiful. I likes the shots taken without greenery as well as those with greenery. (You might be behind on comments but I'm behind on watching videos. But I'm here now.) I may have to watch this again because I had people talking around me disrupting me. Take care and God Bless!

This one is all Virginia. But Massanutten is strange mountain that doesn't give away a lot of secrets.

I live in the area and while I'm not the most knowledgeable person about the trails and history, I do know there is a lot more activity on the mountain than you make it sound. There is a dirt road that goes across the top, which you mentioned using to get to the pond. Lots of people live and own land on the bottom which goes up a ways and most all of them hunt on the rest. Hikers and fishers, etc are all over the mountain. It definitely seems remote when you are off the trail, but there is not an inch of the mountain that isn't traveled on by somebody some time during the year. There is certainly no government facility hiding.. That would be the Sugar Grove naval base to the west. You could try doing a video on that, but you won't get far.

I was just being ridiculous. I actually put a silly "trigger warning" in the video. You're exactly right, it's loaded with activity. If you're there during good weather, there's people everywhere. But I am a little disappointed that there isn't at least a dirt road that follows the ridgeline to Woodstock.

I hunted the area when I was a kid. I was 13 and alone in a tree stand. Silent. Oddly silent. Heard someone walking. Saw a guy in the distance walking. Figured it was a lost hunter. Guy got closer. All black. No clothing. Arms swinging while walking and no gun like a hunter. I’ve never believed in Bigfoot. Even today I don’t believe in it. But I still don’t know what a guy wearing all black… looking furry… would be doing walking with swinging arms alone in those parts of the woods away from everything. 😂 idk. Lots of strange stuff up there.

At approx. 11:00 I'm thinking-ing you are leaving a bread crumb trail that may lead to a Dutch type windmill that I may have to suss out if I'm inclined to defy everything that Einstein has discouraged. Or encouraged...I forget what he said about time and such. Crap! I'm getting old...lol!

Now your talking my kind of issue. My buddy Daniel Benoit runs east coast bigfoot research organizatiin out of staunton/ weyers cave area. These huge hairy cryprids have been seen up around elkton,va and up above Stuart's draft along the old coal mine and apple orchard areas.

I’ve heard of some sightings around on on top of Massanutten. But if I was old big feet, I wouldn’t care as much for Massanutten as I would Lewis or Loft. More picnic baskets around there. Just smelly hikers on Massanutten. Massanutten history isn’t as easy to find as most things are these days. Kinda strange.

I am sure them Luray caverns run all back underneath that Massanutten mountain ridgelines. Would be perfect way to travel unseen for long distances. Plus be a perfect climate for big hairy creatures to live in and be comfortable year round.

Well, Richmond, VA, which isn't too far from Massanutten. It's always been pretty easy to get from one place to the next in Shenandoah Valley. The main point is that Massanutten is in the middle of everything east of the Mississippi.
