Finally someone explaining what you really need to get Abiogenesis! (Life from non-life). WOW. The complexity is staggering. Reminds me of the old saying about a tornado going through the junkyard and building a functioning 747 passenger airplane. That probably doesn't even do it justice. I love it! "Nobody knows! Nobody has done it." Thank you, thank you Dr James Tour.

What is most amazing is that the same basic argument can be made with even a 3-legged stool. Everything falls to pieces when you realize that every stage, every step (so-called) MUST be a justifiable endpoint. It is like saying you can only write a sentence where every proto-sentence is also a sensible utterance (and an improvement on the shorter preceding one). All of this has to be compared to the obvious: There is a better, simpler explanation, namely, intelligence.

You are much appreciated by those of us who fought the same battle in the past two generations. I learned from Henry Morris PhD Hydrology. Duane Gish was another. They started the Institute for Creation Research. They came to my church, but none at my backwater teacher's college were brave enough to battle their logic. Until Morris & Gish I thought no one believed in the 6 day creation anymore, but God had His 7000 left even back then. Now to see you & some others carrying on the work is great. Dont be ashamed of 6 day creation. God didnt give His Word to be only understood by geniuses. God's Word always works out to be true. Both to the genius & the avg man. He can find a way for the brain-damaged as well. I was quite surprised to find macroevolutionary theory as full of holes as swiss cheese, and completely unnecessary to me. The fraud of macroevolution helped me understand all men are significant liars, but God is true.

@@weltschmerzistofthaufig2440 Yes they have distinct traits but they so close to us. Culturally they share many things with homo sapiens and there are proof that they coexisted a while with them. There are even some actual people that look much the same as neanderthal. Correct me if I 'm wrong but latest reconstitution of neanderthal mens exists in some museums dressed as modern men. At first look many people wouldn't notice much. Many paleontologists think that they intermixed with homo sapiens and their specific traits just disappeared through their descendants, starting to look more and more closer to homo sapiens. Their traits were an advantage for some specialists that would have given a better hearing and vision. For their culture they weren't only living in caverns. They cared for their disabled, had good art abilities, and mastered some advanced craftsmanship at the time sapiens were living. Burial practices existed among them, showing some signs of rekigion. Their characteristic traits probably got diluted by intermixing with homo sapiens. If you looked to neanderthal reconstitution through the years, the oldest looked the more ape-like. It changed many times always giving up ape-like traits to more and more human ones. This is an indication of what people wanted to see, a clear biased guesses, until more complete skulls and other bones were found.

People in majority cannot do symmetry be it drawings or in other activities and yet we are to believe, mindless nature to construct without goal, meaning, direction, blue print, information, intelligence - a human being? It's not in a book. There are 2 stories about creation which explain relation between God and humans. Stories weren't written as evidence nor detailed explanation. The process of evolution only has one target, survival of the species. As traits develop in a species the traits that help that species to survive get passed on and over time that species will transition to a new species. That is evolution. You say that temperatures required to make a motor out of chemicals are 5c followed by -10 to -15c and then -50c. That point I have no issue with. The issue is you say that -50c needs to be in the atmosphere, not true. Where else could you find such an extreme you may ask? I refer you to a song that says "I'd like to be, under the sea." Hydrothermal vents have all the temperatures needed for this and more. The ambient temperature of water around the vents can reach below -50 and at the vents can exceed 407c. You can read more about it here; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrothermal_vent Even without the hydrothermal vents, all you have done is present a long winded strawman fallacy. You have misrepresented abiogenesis and evolution and basically said, "this is highly unlikely, therefore god." That doesn't get you any closer to a god claim than any other argument. All you done is dressed it up with science and failed to present any compelling evidence for your god. All I have to say about this is, a swing and a miss.

Your misunderstanding of chemical reactions leads to your misrepresentation of what Dr. Tour is saying. Chemical reactions do not stop and start on their own. Scientists today, using all of the chemicals that are necessary to create one carbohydrate molecule, can’t create a single cell. On a prebiotic Earth there is no circumstance which life would arrive spontaneously. The facts are not disputed because they can’t simulate the process that they believe led to the first life. Not to mention the DNA containing the genetic code that directs the construction of the components of the cell. Where would the information arise from that contains the genetic code necessary for life? Where does this information come from?

Hydrothermal vents have potential to solve some of the temperature variation issues, but they are plagued by a vast number of other chemical issues mainly having to due with hydrolization of product material, and i think chloride reactions due to salinity. And it also offers no solution to the problem of having yo stop reactions, and isolate compounds before they continue on to unusable material.
@fdameron
@fdameron 2 жыл бұрын
@@anthonypolonkay2681 But the temperatures as well as the raw materials are there. You say there are a number of chemical issues around hydrothermal vents, explain them and provide your research to demonstrate your point. And as far as stopping the reaction, all it needs to do is get away from the heat source. Plenty of room to do that, plenty of propulsion provided by the vents to do so.

Q) Of all the things for which a cause is known... what percentage are natural phenomena within the laws of nature? A) 100%. Q) How many are supernatural and outside the laws of nature? A) 0%. Tour likes to lean into the laws of nature when he asks scientists making some claim..."Where's the data?" OK. Fair enough so for logical consistency he must ask the same about his supernatural causation. "Where's the data?" The demonstrable fact is that there is NONE so he's logically inconsistent and hypocritical. It's all sophistry to give a pseudo-scientific rationalization for people who need some more justification for their belief. This is a foolish tactic because the science can never work in favor of the supernatural because the supernatural is completely unscientific.

The resurrection is hard for me in the strictest literal sense, to see a supernatural miracle. I question that interpretation, based in Dr. Meyer's ID argument for uniform repeated experience. On the other hand, a God that without doubt in my mind created the universe and all living things in it, could in fact raise anyone/anything from the dead is an obvious logical conclusion. At this point in my life, the miracle of Christ is not in the resurrection, instead it is in the fact that his teachings changed the world.
@solemnexistence
@solemnexistence 4 жыл бұрын
I find the resurrection fits the goodness and beauty I attribute to God, that He loves life, and takes no pleasure in the death of His creation. Biblically speaking, we were only meant to live forever. Death is not 'normal' Biblically, it's a punishment. Comparing this line of reasoning to what we know biologically, I see a hand in glove fit. The Bible gives life the greatest value of all, made in God's image, meant to know Him forever, with every good thing ensuing.

1 Corinthians 15:14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Does Paul, who wrote the book of Corinthians, think that Christ didn't rise in a literal sense? Or that He rose?

That arse at the end, "I believe all the prophets..." Well if you do sir then you'd believe Jesus when He said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Besides, if you truly believed all the prophets (I'm assuming you mean of all reliogions) yet they all hold contradictory truth claims, so how can you believe them all? 1 Peter 3:18-20 tells us that Jesus shared the gospel message to those who had died before his coming: "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water." God is currently speaking to many Muslims in the Middle East about Jesus in their dreams. God sent missionaries to bring the gospel to many living in isolation...so yes, God is merciful and all will give all the oppurtunity to respond to His offer of salvation. "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen." - Romans 1:18-25
