The MYTHOLOGIES of Genshin Impact's Celestia (And it's Inspirations)

It is funny how much similarities all these world creation myths have. There are different variations, but in Finnish folklore it is believed that in the beginning Ilmatar (Ilma= air. tar=feminine ending, for example like in word kuningatar=queen) came from the heavenly chambers to swim in the primordial sea. While she was swimming in the sea, she was impregnated by wind and a bird made a nest on her lap and laid six steel eggs and one golden. The nest becomes too hot to bear and the eggs fall into the ocean and break. She then forms the world out of these eggs, using eggshell to create the sky etc. She also finally after 9 years of pregnancy gives birth to Väinämöinen (Eternal Sage, bard, hero and demigod) who becomes the focal point in many Finnish folklores. They also believed into the fake sky dome thing and that there is a great world pillar or world tree that holds the dome up.

My theory: Celestia is not really a realm of the gods, but in reality, a space station/laboratory (this then ties in Genshin to the Honkai series). After all, the Natlan Archon Quest proves that the sky really IS a fake.

Also, my theory is that Celestia’s gods are actually aliens or technologically advanced humans (again, tying in to the Honkai series, specifically Honkai: Star Rail).

They tried to stave off there own SPIRITUAL deaths. By creating a Bubble Universe to upload there Soul and Resonance. Then with that Bubble reality created another to use as a well to absorbed the Abyss corruption trying to chase them down. That well world likely created by The most powerful god of that world Sleeping think of them like a super computer doing all the work with there AUTHORITY to maintain the world. While they sleep holding that world together it acts as a place for the Abyssal energy to concentrate like a Cup filling with water. The Crisis in Natlan is because the cup is full and flowing over the sides. I think Tyvatt is like the base of a wine glass. It's not a Bubble or flat world. But more Tyvatt is on the Bottom of the stem. and it's upside down. However the bowl of the cup is now full of abyss energy and can't absorbed any more. The Sleeping god the first descender is likely dead. His body is the element we call Geo or Dust. Was reshaped into the Cup I was talking about. The corpse is the vessel that is Tyvatt. It was a Imaginary God likely of the Harmony. The soul part the mind if the Actual descender. Zhongli is likely his child. It being a Great Celestial Dragon of Light Chinese Eternal dragon. It was inhabited by Elemental Dragons. Those are it's Organs the Primal Sovriegns. Those Organs allow the Celestial Dragon which is a combination of all to be LIGHT hence the Abyss is causing damage. The Dragon was likely a God or Pet of the Supreme God of Amphorus or a Child like Tiamat in mythology or Echidina the mother of all monsters. Hence she is pissed

Have you considered the more recent stuff about "fragments" either of the PO or the 3rd descender being used to empower entities (gods)? For example in the Wings of Merciful, Wrathful Waters it says, "the primordial sea's heart, gentle Egeria, was awarded a shard of that one who was first, and gained both godhood and the divine duty-come-lately". We also have that each god has an ideal (eg "Freedom", "Contracts", "Eternity") and these ideals can be compared to the Heavenly Principles such that Ei says her ideal ("Eternity") is "closest". The concept of a bunch of folks being empowered by a fragment of XYZ that enters them and they get some sort of heroic / super powers and then they all fight is a common one. In Anime you have stuff like Inuyasha where the demons they fight have shards of the Shikon Jewel. But since you prefer classic examples from ancient literature, consider the classic Chinese text "Water Margin". Said to be from the 13th century it's a story about 108 heroes that have sort of super powers and get up to stuff often fighting each other. Their origin story is that some place there's a crystal or something that was used to house 108 spirits that had been sealed by magicians of the past and some idiot smashes it and all the spirits fly out and empower these 108 heroes. The story is one of the four famous classical Chinese literature. They are often used as the basis for computer games or anime. Well 3/4 are. The "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Journey to the West" (the one with the Monkey king, Sun Wukon, in it) being the other two. --------------- Also the Noah's Ark story seems used to describe Celestia as a force coming from the destruction of humankind and then restoring and rebuilding humanity.

Most Recently the in the Salt land saga and now in Mars. So lets get into it. What is Tyvatt it's a Upside Down Wine Glass. The world we plat in is the Base of the glass the Stem. Far far above us or rather bellow is the world of Amphora from Star rails. Or something similar. VERY VERY SIMILAR to the point the differences don't' matter for this explanation and with how Hoyoverse meta works we can just roll past it. In the new Amphora Realm release they gave us the basic Cosmology. There were three Fates. And a Central one made from all three. HOWEVER one of them broke into all the Seeli, One died and the third is a Harbinger. Of the one that broke into the seelie a central core remains Piemon. They work as the RAM in a computer. Or FATE Irmansal is the Hard drive. The Nerve system that transports everything to MEMORY which is the same Energy as the Memokeepers collects. Think of it as back up Will power and emotion. That's the Green energy we see. When it's more transparent it's Wind which plants breath, which in this case is TIME. That with out will become Anemo or Freedom. Loose energy with out will to stucture it. Hence it picks up the will of other elements. Cryo, Electro, Fire, Water. Geo is Dust which is a nice was to say the CORPSE OF THE SUPREME CELESTIAL DRAGON OF LIGHT. The original Zhongli who in fact I think is the last of his will. Think all the times we see a Psychic God Echo etc. So both Dendro which is Will and Geo which is Celestial Material are External Structure materials. Think the Blood and Flesh of the Dead God. The reason Geo is the God of Contracts is his will determines he AUTHORITY over his base parts. Fire is Emotional Impetus that which drives us to act, and causes change. It's the beginning of things and that which burns them out. Water is compassion and connection it's that which allows a flowing of energy Electro is FUEL it's what maintains cohesion after it as been set by will and fuels Dendro's program the actual energy in your computer Cryo is the Lock, it pauses activity and holds things, likely the Firmament is all ICE the reason she needs the other Gnosis maybe she thinks she can freeze the abyssal energy and force is back down the stem of the Wine glass hence why we are always fighting down the Abyssal spire. Anemo is Freedom because it's undetermined state of energy think of Electro as Direct Current and Aero being like the Electro Magnetic Field everywhere but you can't always tap into it. The Dragon Sovereigns are like Dragon Elemental Organs of the GREAT celestial Dragon. Hence when the world was built from it's Corpse they were already here, think of the Milisune in the Elenos. Same Same. A Descender is the Will of a Titan there mind. Likely from Amphorus. There body was Condensed to Create the Visions and Gnosis. they are a Secondary system grafted onto this system. I believe Ultimately The World Tree is Imaginary Time flows through it like sap. It draws from the Sea of Quanta which is a product of the Abysal sea. Quanta is the break down of Imaginary energy it's undoes the Lock of Willpower. Each universe is like a Leaf being feed with imagination but when they fall off they sink into the sea of quanta that digest the will that holds the shape of the world. The Abyss targets that connection to the tree when that happens you get a HONKAI IMPACT. Tyvatt had a Genshin GOD IMPACT. They knew they were going to loose. So he or she Cut it off. They they build a WALL the Firmament. The Celestial Dragon is likely fine in the Sea of Quanta as it's native to that environment hence why the God First Descender used it's body to Build the Structure of Tyvatt for it's resilient. This was always just to buy time. They were hoping for a Durandal type of Solution savior like Bianaca from HI3. Tyvatt is a Imaginary Well built out a Celestial dragon and is acting as a Plug and Wall but now over time it's slowly breaking down. Evolution isn't happening because we are now closed off from more Imagination fuel to keep this world alive like a rotting leaf that is eating the last of it's nutrients. If we found soil we could grown into a Clone of the world but as of yet we have no where to graft this world to Let me know if you all are interested in more. @@nicholaslienandjaja1815 If you check out the new Starrails trailer on Amphorus they just explained the entire cosmology of Tyvatt. Tyvat may work like the Shu realm on Mars in Honkai Star Rails. They create a bubble reality from some one with enough power like a Elsian realm to then put all the abyss energy into like a well between worlds. Tyvatt is the well and the First Decender created it for that purpose they have to sleep because like Su form HI3rd it's there mind that creates space Imagination must be like mass in thought if you have enough you can bend time and space and make these bubble imaginary worlds.

An important video. I love the prediction and lore recap videos as much as the next guy, but I do believe a core aspects of Genshins lore is that its supposed to be educational. Genshins lore is a deconstruction of mythology/divinity, it's comparing and contrasting multiple different explanations of how our world works, and I do believe we are supposed to draw parallels to our own world, do reserach, and gain knowledge and appreciation for Genshins sources. Are you familiar with Xenosaga/Xenogears at all? I believe it is the central influence for Genshins writing and for the way it includes Mythology, theyre the games that essentially invented the hyperintellectual early 2000s Square JRPG, and they made including gnosticism in your JRPG "trendy". I believe it is also (a large reason) why Genshin uses the Ars Goetia so much, and not much else of the books. Because thats what Xenogears did. Or how the capital G Gnosis is this super important item in Genshin, because thats what Xenosaga did. Id guess that Genshins Gnosis is as much a reference to gnosticism as it is to Xenosaga, because Xenosaga established the concept of a Gnosis in JRPGs. I think its likely that the inclusion of a Gnosis early in Genshins story as a magical mcguffin is a direct nod to people familiar with Xenosaga and primed to understand and look for gnostic references. Like a developer-player dialogue all through subtext, turning out to be a joke at the players expense when it is later revealed that the Gnosis is just not important at all in Genshins story. Im not implying that everything Genshin does is in some way a reference to those games, obviously not. But I think one can gain a lot of appreciation for Genshins writing if theyre more familiar with the Xeno family of games. In an interview, Takahashi, a lead writer of Xenogears and -saga (and much much more), mentioned how one of the key goals of Xenogears was educating the youth of then about philosophy and theology, and one of the best ways of doing that is packaging all of that stuff in a familiar shonen story. (Its been a while since I researched this topic, corrections appreciated). And I think, with this game likely being a direct influence of Takahashis work, that that is also a key goal of Genshins writers. If youre looking for new project ideas (which you probably arent), I think researching Genshins and Xenogears/-sagas relationship is a hugely important topic, key to fully understanding and appreciating Genshins writing, even if this connection is not brough up much.

A question most people don’t ask, but are the visions from the elemental god (eg mona from focalors) or from the regional god (eg mona from Barbados) because all differences between visions are regional other than element, and only fontainian visions have pneuma and ousia, so if power is from the god of that element, it suggests all archons can wield pneuma and ousia to an extent
