This little loud box also works well for guitars. I run it with the Helix as my pedalboard for both guitar and bass and bought the Ashdown for the bass and I have a small Marshall combo for my guitars. But the combo lacks an FX loop, so I tried running the guitar through this bass head and it sounds better than the guitar amp (with the Ashdown 2x10 with the HF horn at high). Best buy I could have made with the limited budget I had.

I love ashdown stuff. I bought a mag 300 2x10 combo As a stopgap till I bought something else. Saw it on eBay for just over 100 quid. Had celestions installed to bring the Ohmage to the full 300w. Been about 4 years and it's still there. I've tried other stuff, and while some of it is really awesome, this mag is Just perfect for what I need. I put drive and all kinds of effects through it, and it always sounds good. If it dies I'll be trawling for another.

Steve Smith Sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately I have been asking for Captain Meets Danish Pete, for a couple of years now and it’s still shows no sign of happening ☹️

According to Ashdown the output is 180 @ 8ohm and 300 @ 4 ohm.

great playing guys, be good to chuck a few pedals up on these amps too, fuzz or dglass alpha omega etc, see how they sound with an exciter

Can this be used without cabs? Say I only have headphones for a while.
@weedeeeter3 жыл бұрын
It does. The input jack is on the back side
@hairychris4446 жыл бұрын
Quick one re: output wattage: probably an impedance thing, with lower output at higher impedance. Adding a cab in parallel lowers the impedance. My GK MB800 puts out 500w @ 8ohm, 800w @ 4ohm for example!
@kalvin5644 жыл бұрын
how many watts does the 4 ohm output have?

I'm looking at purchasing those exact Ashdown cabinets. A little leery though because of their small size. Not sure if they'll be loud enough for my band. Anybody tried them?
@puel033010 ай бұрын
i heard that they were pretty good did u get one?
@puel033010 ай бұрын
if so, can u recommend ashdown amps/cabs
@Genesimmons810 ай бұрын
@@puel0330 Yes I did actually, they're really great. Nice and light for transporting and have a really great sound. Use them on stage and easily has enough power for live gigs. I also tried the Ashdown Original HD-1 bass head. It wasn't powerful enough for me, but may be fine for practising at home.

Ashdown did the Little Giant and Fly (if my memory serves me). But none of them caught on. They were small, but not exactly light.
@ewanRbeck6 жыл бұрын
Yup, as far as I recall, the Ashdown Superfly 500 was one of, if not the first compact class D bass amplifier, way way way back in 2005/2006. They've had the Little Giant, and the MiBass since then.This isn't Ashdown's first shot at a lightweight amp. I do love these reviews guys, but check your facts out ;)

Not a hartke rep, I’ve played ashdown amps and hartke amps for awhile and the hartke kills it every time, something about ashdown that doesn’t do it for me, it would be cool if you guys review hartke amps

Not too sure of these compact amps that are all the rage now,think they’re just creating a new market to increase sales,they’re too much for home practice and not got the headroom for larger venues,a bit Meh....
@ayoungethan5 жыл бұрын
Larger venues = DI to pa, amp is basically monitor just for the band, or larger extension cab. More speakers, more air, more volume, somewhat regardless of wattage. Ever heard a little 9v amp drive a half stack? Not sure exactly what the concern is unless someone is in a band that doesn't understand the concept of dynamics...i personally don't tolerate that, bad for the music and the business. Drummers can't drum if they can only drum loudly all the time and guitarists need to learn to turn down and readjust their eq to leave space for bass in the mix. Otherwise it is an amateurish dysfunctional mess l

I wasn't impressed compared to my old ABM 500 115 combo. But I have to use a dolly to move all my bass rigs now that I'm over 70.
