I was married to a narcissist. No one knew he was married to me. I was the dirty little secret! He never took me anywhere! He was a truck driver who couldn't stay away from the truck stop hookers! He was fired several times for not completing his jobs! He was very unkempt and a hoarder! I had him served with divorce papers on Christmas Eve day! It was the best gift I ever gave myself! Thanks, HG! I certainly surprised him! For once, he was speechless! Woo-hoo

Glad you got away from it. I also was involved in a relationship with a narcissistic person. It lasted a week, I couldn’t go on more than that. I ripped his personality open to him and told him to hit the door and stay away from me. He tried again(twice) but failed. I’m so glad I did what I did. I guess narcissists don’t have much of a chance with natural born bit**es because they won’t accept their manipulation.

Horrifyingly accurate! This wheel created trauma, chronic physical pain (fibromyalgia and migraines), shame, and loneliness. Thank you, HG, for explaining it so well - and doing so with perfect grammar! (I share your disdain. I always cringe when I see improper grammar and misspelled words.

This is brilliant took me 20 years to get off that perpetual wheel of doom of misery. Although it took a breakdown to do so. But how FREE and invigorated i felt when i did. I now take no crap from anyone, you treat me with respect as i do toward you or your gone. My councillor said it was self preservation. Life is now calm with my second husband who is an empath, like me, and truly is lovely. But this also makes me realise how my ex husband, never loved me or our two children. This was 23 years ago, and i am now well and truly over my ex. Who has himself remarried, but still cheating, i only feel pity for him now, as he will never understand or feel love or happiness. We converse at times through our children, birthday parties etc who have of course grown up now, but i say hello then i walk away, and ignore him the rest of the evening. I owe him nothing, he destroyed me, but i hold my head high, and let him see im a survivor, never a victim.

Understanding and acknowledgment is the key to freedom. It can be hard being on this wheel but most of us do not know or understand what is happening until it is too late and we feel completely alone and destroyed, thank you for your precious time and immense knowledge surrounding narcissistic behaviour HG, sending you love ❤❤❤

Wow, that's brilliant! Thank you, HG. As I've mentioned before, I haven't been ensnared romantically, but I now understand that I have almost certainly had dealings with narcissists at and through work, and some outside work (and now I also have suspicions about an online relationship I once had). And while the circumstances were different from this kind of romantic entanglement, there is - or, rather, there was - a considerable amount of emotion involved in some of the dealings. I no longer have any such involvements, so I can view them dispassionately, but I know how emotions can cloud judgement, and be a deterrent to taking the logical steps that are needed.

6:55 I believe the objective for my particular narcissist was to wear out my adrenal glands. There were times I swear I could feel the vagus nerve being tapped. Yes, he once said I need to finish what I started here .. You just don’t understand .. Don’t you see this will never get any better until I say it will.. & you know that’s not going to happen right? the 2nd kind of case destroyed my belief in relatioships. the higher they stand in hierarchy the more fatal the results. it felt like destroying me from inside out. I was 24 yo. and that upper middle was charming. If anyone finds him/herself in this kind of situation learning their narcs are married later on and not from the begining and they give you a gift to somehow buy you, dont take it. do whatever you like with them, leave them, avoid them make no contact but dont take the gift and do not accept going for dinner. they will chase you. if you challenge their control when you are in love they will leave you in pain knowing that they going to meet the new fresh partner. you will turn from pink to blue black.

The Wheel…A modern day torture device. A miserable existence. And this is what separates Tudor’s instruction from the others…he offers the way to suspend the spin, to safely exit the ramp off, while others benefit by never seeking a way to help the wheel stop…the perpetual victim is profitable for professionals. Not all but many.

It's good to have a range of examples as devaluation comes in many forms but the outcome is pretty much the same for the victim. Sounds like what I would imagine being ensnared would be like.

I broke my wheel in the workplace b y going to Human Resources and fully reporting the incidents of micro aggression from the narcissist. And believe me, I will continue doing it if he thinks I'll be too scared. Not anymore

There can be ongoing blowback from that. I deliberately learned to gaslight as payback, every lie met with a bigger more absurd and destabilising lie. Problem is, I can still do it twenty years on and have to remind myself it’s an abuse tactic not a fun way to suffer fools.

That is one way to go. Collect all your own narcisstic traits and outnarc the narc. It works well on rather less bright narcs like an elderly lady of the Mommy Dearest type, I know (and cannot cut out of my life entirely). She lied, I called her out and when the screaming started, I simply informed her, that I could scream louder, if I chose to. Next the poor me victim show: she faked an asthmatic attack, I called her bluff and an ambulance, informed the medics, that she had suffered some sort of mental breakdown, possibly a panic attack, and she was of to to hospital still screaming like a banshee. She is still afraid of me and has behaved around my family and me ever since.

THis is all I've dreamed of. I have lived with a narc for nearly 30 years. He used to beat me. Usually when he was screwed up, but anytime really. He is 6 years older. One night he decided he was angry and gonna take it out on me. I KICKED his ass. I mean, I got him off me, stood over him and dared him to do it again. He'll have to kill me next time because he's too old to beat me anymore. I may reach out to you HG, you know it all

Get evidence of what you're going through. Get help from organisations/authorities. Get out as quickly and safely as possible. The narc detector will tell you whether the other person is a narc. The empath detector wil highlight what you are. Good luck.
