Siamese Algae eaters took a nearly black tank of mine and within a couple of months had eaten every bit of it, letting the plants recover. It's green again, and not a speck of black hair algae anywhere... no other "algae eating" animal I've kept has ever done that. Threw six of them in there, and that was that.

Rich at the end of the day this is your life, your rescue and your choice as to how to run things on your channel. I'm a fan since i first saw a video, about 5 years now. I'm going to be a fan regardless of the length of the videos, the content is not lower quality or less informative. Your true fans are going to be here either way.

I have never related to anything more lmao. "Oh let me just treat a bucket of water to start doing some water changes." 3 days later I have 8 buckets full of tank water all over my house because I drained two tanks to rescape and move everything around. The cycle never ends.

bba is caused by high flow and irregular co2 levels, lower your flow and maybe cut the air down or it will come back. also it isnt really about rewatching the live, some of us can't rewatch due to time zone, perhaps after 24 hours take it to private.

I will miss seeing the live streams on replay and joining the community in the comments, but you are not obligated to do anything for the fans, especially if it hurts your channel and the rescue. You have to do what is best for you and your family. I wouldn't blame the people who unsubscribed though. No one is obligated to stay. Some people are looking for different aspects from a community. Finally! LOL Looks much better, but can I suggest a few small rock piles or other objects for focal points? It's good to have things for the eye to rest on. Anyway I think angelfish would be great in there, but the gouramis and other small fish can stay too, most anyway. Also, how about some dwarf cichlids? Piles of rocks would give them plenty of territory options.

Well, when it's in small amounts, the 3% peroxide solution. Will prevent it from growing big and it will kill it. But when it's overtaken the tank like that the peroxide solution doesn't work

You really need to watch your water parameters. And use peroxide. Definitely one of the more annoying challenges with freshwater.

Let the community fish go find new home and switch the tank up do a friendly odd ball tank ... ive still yet to see anyone have freshwater pipefish 😅😅😅 So i have the same problem in my 20XH tank ... i wanna do the Peroxide trick ... so i need to pick out as much as possible with my hands and remove my fish and just add some Peroxide .. should i shut off my filter while doing that ? Anyways great video and thank you video is very helpful for me 👍🙏

Check for those small fish before running the hydrogen peroxide through. Some fry or shrimp are swimming around in there still

I don't watch the livestream. I just don't want to watch a video that's over an hour long - (tbh, there's nothing wrong with that length of video, but that's not why I'm on KZbin). But *if* I did, seeing you're a charity, I'd join for the MEASLY price of a dollar a *month*. (That's because I don't always catch any livestream until after it's done). I also imagine, you could watch that video as many times as you wanted to, just like all the other videos.

Very good video Big Rich. I have had problems with that type of algae in the past and I know the stuff is very hard to get rid of. Thanks for clearing up why I and others have not been able to watch reruns of your most recent live streams. I, myself have missed a few of those live streams at 6PM because I have been undergoing chemo treatments and I have been taking frequent naps and relied on just being able to catch a re-play of the live stream later in the evening after I woke up. I do sometimes watch the live stream when I am able and wide awake but it was just more convenient to sometimes watch the re-plays or simply to stop watching the live stream and catch up later instead, like I sometimes do when I am watching a movie on Amazon. I'm just relieved that you, Tracy and the rest of the OFR crew are hopefully doing well because I thought something bad happened to you guys which was why the live streams weren't posted. It was my understanding that previously posted live streams would simply be sent to the live stream channel. I can afford paying a dollar a month to continue to be able to view re-plays of the live streams. I have been a long time subscriber to both of your channels and would never drop my subscription because I can't watch a re-play of a live stream any longer. I strongly support OFR and everything that you guys do and watch every video that OFR puts out. Maybe someday I will be able to come there and meet everyone in person and see all the fish and their tanks but traveling all the way to Ohio is kinda hard on me at the moment and I wouldn't want to impose on anyone. At least I can still view whats happening on your KZbin channel and will just try and stay awake long enough to watch the complete live stream. I'm in the same time zone as you so I should be able to watch everything. I've already missed out on the past two live streams because I wasn't aware of the changes. I'll miss checking out the Tracy update section of the stream on Saturday morning if you have to start charging for reruns, at least the way things are right now. But that's my problem, and I get it, you can't be doing wasted work. Definitely do it if you think it's what's best for the rescue and for the channel. The poll was just confusing though. Aren't you already putting the live streams on the live stream channel? The poll made that sound like a new option you're considering. Figured I'm missing something so I didn't answer it. They are not charging people to watch the live stream it's just an option to move it to members only after Friday. The memberships start off at 1.00 a month to support the rescue.

I have to take the livestream down after. It's live because youtube is taking it as a Poorly acting vidso, we can take it down off of the main channel after the live. And it won't affect our algorithm. Anymore we have the second channel, which ISO FR livestream. Bring, we can upload it to there. Or we can just move it over to members. And I can't find an option to make members any cheaper than a dollar a month. So that's why we put it up to a vote to everybody. We don't want to offend nobody. We don't want to try and make people pay more. We're just trying to make it easier for the channel to grow. And that way we make more money from the channel and have to rely less on trying to ask the public for money. Now I'm paying about $1500 a month out of my pocket for the bills of the rest. Which is my my business in my responsibility but it would just be easier if the old KZbin channel would make enough to cover it. It would make my life a lot easier so I don't like asking the public for money

hi Mr big mullet ever recorded, I'm confused about the editing of your videos why have you stopped showing anything to do with the substance of the videos, you used to show us everything , catching the fish, emptying the tank, cleaning and explaining along the way. now your videos are non-existent , did we do something to upset you, every video is short and sweet it seems, I've been watching you for years and feel a little let down, i have requested before that if you do a really short video then why cant you do a longer version showing all the footage as well and maybe show it on reapers channel or even better start OFR 2 Channel , PLEASE CAN YOU HAVE A THINK ABOUT IT thanks' paul from Manchester England.

Hi, no of course, now, we're not trying to let anyone down. Our videos went from being about a 1/2 hour-long to about 12 minutes. Long to make them more attention, grabbing and people. To stay and watch the whole 12 minutes. We were getting a lot of people who had watched 2 or 3 minutes and then it would leave away and it would look bad on the algorithm that the video was boring or something so on all of our information that we've sought out. At said 12 to 15 minute videos were the best. And we're just trying to make money for the channel so that we can have money for the fish right now. It's not even covering the bills and I have to pay for it out of my pocket so just trying to be helpful. Not trying to offend anybody.

I'm one of those who live dollar to dollar. I struggle and stress out every month about bills, but I still pay 1.00 a month to support the rescue not to watch the members' videos or get the perks. OFR has made it as cheap as possible for those who struggle. I don't and never saw it as paying to watch content.
