I like how the lyrics give that sad feeling about wanting someone you can't have And I like how the video shows that kind of classic senario about a guy who can't have someone he secretly loves when she falls for someone of higher position, it's an unexpected situation, but it fits with the lyrics well enough. I love this song.

um, what are you guys talking about? this is one of the most perfect music videos i've ever seen. the performances are so impeccably acted that you understand all of their very nuanced gestures without ever losing track of the song. and the very specific places in which the band members appear. that was all very intentional, you know. if you actually pay attention you'll see all the statements being made about love, the nature of government, and the nature of... well, nature, really. it's gorgeous.

Still no explanation, eh? 12yrs! 😂 Hmm.. With this band, I admit there's just too much that goes way over my head, as well.. Which I feel says a lot, as I've dissected lyrics by alternative rock bands for years; It was a hobby of mine (and my friends) to try and place what WE felt the artist meant and what WE related to and turned into our own. With a song like this, I saw, "conversation 16" as representation for the longing and desire that he may be depicting in this song; calling back to the 16th conversation about something specific? I was never sure. I just really liked the cadence and flow of this song and enjoyed it for what it was.
