The NBA Cup is AMAZING…

The Mavs (although mostly Luka) seem to have a motivational problem. They start every game slow, throw a bunch of sus shots and then in the fourth they realize they actually need to play to win the game and go on a tear, but then they just have fallen short too much so far. Considering how good they are when they are "on" they should've held good leads through most of their games so far.

He's probably saving himself for more necessary games to prevent injury and exertion and will turn it up in the playoffs, but Luka better not get too complacent, lest he become white James Harden

I think this is why they couldn’t truly challenge Boston in the finals. It’s like having a team good enough to contend and just…not being able to get over that jump due to a lack of effort or whatever.

steph isn’t carrying as much as you think. yes the last 2 games have been crazy, but this team is deep and no player averages over 30 mins a game. this team is good whether steph is there or not. you need to respect this team more

Well…. They do need Steph too though. Last season he made the most clutch shots in the fourth and overtime. I think he’s continuing the same tho season. Like you had Luka and Kyrie or even SGA in previous game and it was Steph that got the buckets when the team needed it. Even against BOS. BOS has Tatum and still Steph shined away in last 3 minutes.

@ Definitely they need steph, but Cone was trying to make it out like steph’s putting the pack back on every night, when really he hasn’t been playing all too much. going into the mavs game, he was only averaging 22 on less than 30 mins a game. The warriors have been playing well even when steph’s off the floor. They need steph to be contenders obviously, but outside of steph, they still have a really good team

EXCELLENT first day of the in-season tournament! 👍👏 I will say this though: I still don't understand how they introduce something ENTIRELY new in the NBA, and for lack of inspiration it's basically the playoffs with single elimination games SMDH. HOW did they not take this opportunity to have West and East compete against each other EARLIER than just the FINAL again!!?? Huge flaw imo. 😢😩

Its a tournament they do in the season. So they need to play a game against the 4 other teams in their group, then play the knockout games. Then the NBA Cup Championship game will be played December 17th.

@@dvdv8197 as you can see I got (and will still get) the names all jumbled up, it also doesn’t help they changed the name of this one from last season. I watch games through highlights and recaps so I don’t follow the schedule very strictly besides the playoff. Also them doing something so early when the nba season just got back and has been entertaining threw me off since it’s normal far later into the season when it gets a bit boring.

Terry Rozier is someone who makes his team worse everywhere he goes. Boston got better as soon as he left and the same is true of Charlotte. He is a chucker and is not good for your team. As a Cavs fan I used to wait til he shot because it was a guaranteed bad shot and often a miss. Scary terry is a myth and I wish him the worst.

Oh I just came up with a decent way to reduce the number of game played while not changing the legacy of "82 game total" while creating more entertainment. Every month or so, there can be a "high weight game" that count as 2 or 4 wins or loses. This allow the actually total number of game to reduce to prevent injuries while also creating some spicy games while preserving the legacy of "82 game total"
