The true horror of the Necrons is that only the most elite of them can even begin to remember the magnitude of what they lost during biotransference; snippets of memory, momentary flashes of emotion. The rest of them are confined to a mostly soulless existence that I can only describe as late-stage dementia. The worst of them succumb to the destroyer virus or the flayer virus, both of which are looked upon with horror and revulsion by the other Necrons. The Necrons sacrificed so much to achieve immortality only to find the price too steep for their liking, but forced to pay it regardless.

I like to think that the "psychic" weapons function by remotely pressing the electrical buttons in your brain to produce the desired affect, bypassing the warp entirely. One could imagine such large AOE weapons were created to counter the menace that is Eldar fighters because there really is no way to deal with those things with equivalent craft.

I'v added a bunch of new ships to the Necron fleets, including titans and mega titans like the Throne of the Silent King to Battle Fleet Gothic Armada 2 in my mod, Skalgrim mod. In the upcoming 2.2 version Im adding several new Necrons ships to the other expanded rosters. Make the galaxy quake in the shadow of the eternal Necron race.

I think the mind affecting weaponry on neurons ships like the nightmare field are not psychic at all. Rather, they utilize the same sufficiently advanced technology used by Necron Harbingers of despair/psychomancers on an enormous scale. And considering how much psychic ability relies on mental discipline, it makes sense for the Ctan and Necrontyr to have focused heavily on affecting the mind through material means.

To me the Necron ships seen are actually the following: Jackal & Raider - high-speed civilian yachts with weapons attached to them Shroud Light Cruiser - actually a stealth ship originally designed to infiltrate systems and observe the locals (like a duck blind on a boat) Scythe Cruiser - a Container ship that is supposed to carry cargo pods along the main spine Cairn Tombship - think more traveling city rather than warship. Similar to the Atlantis city-ship from Stargate: Atlantis So basically all the Necron ships seen so far are armed civilian vessels, rather than actual warships. Similar to the following ground units: Doomsday Ark - this is more of an anti-grav crane carrying the main weapon, rather than a tank. A better design would have the 5 pairs of arms spread out (like a 10-legged spider), and the main gun on top. The command platform would be mounted on the side or side/rear, so the Necron trooper on it can see around the main gun. (in clock terms, the trooper would be in positions 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, or 9 o'clock) Ghost Ark - it is supposed to pick up and repair Necron troops, but the five pairs of arms are on the top rather than the bottom. It is also vulnerable to a single anti-armor shot firing straight down the middle. Change this so the arms are pointed down, add a plate of armor in the front, move six of the ten Gauss Flayers to the front armor plate, leaving only two Gauss Flayers on each side.

Always loved the battle fleet gothic games, the newst one blows it out of the park it just sucks that not many people bought it when it came out, you can get some pretty massive battles in this one ive had a couple go for 2 or 3 hours before when fighting a tyranid hive fleet

A fully awakened Necron fleet is terrifying in canon, even Scythe class cruisers could take on battle groups alone and their fastest/stealthiest ships can basically ignore the defenses of even the Sol system without much issue, only being shot down because they slowed down to make a landing.
