I did that for my back. and then started radio frequency or ablations. It basically is the burning of the nerve tips. It can last up to six to twelve month the latter one if lucky. The nerves do eventually grow back. It is almost the same procedure as the nerve block. I do live in the US so i'm not sure if they offer that where you are. It is a life game changer for myself able to be active stay at my job and go surfing once again. Hope It all works out for you. Aloha

I wish you all the best that hopefully you will soon be able to live pain-free. I've struggled with displaced and crushed discs for a long time. At some point you don't even wish that on your worst enemy. I know myself how acute and fast pain is able to completely crash every bit of good mood. You can neither lie nor stand..actually nothing at all. No matter how, it always hurts. I keep my fingers crossed for you from Germany.

I wish you all the best buddy and hopefully the surgery will help you in the long run, I know all to well what it feels like to not be yourself, but I like your positive outlook. Hopefully you’ll be back on your feet and pain free sooner then later.

Mate, sorry to hear you're so gutted with this. I've been on a chronic pain journey for 4 years now. I had two failed procedures similar sounding to yours before I went to a different pain specialist who proceeded to help me find a sustainable medication and physical therapy solution. Sustainable pain relief is attainable, but it takes a few goes. Ultimately 4 rhizotomies and a cocktail of medication where needed to undo the nerve damage I had. I'm on a fraction of the meds and back to outdoor activities and exercise now. Don't lose hope, celebrate the pain free times no matter how long they are. Get a second or third opinion!

wishing you all the best with this Kip, as personally know how bad this really affects someone having back pain since my teens, and now mid 40's. while I have managed to get rid of most of the pain still having to watch how I sit down, and some days just flat out on my back to reduce the pain somehow. worst I have been with it is to the point of complete blackout as the pain is so extreme. and yes know the feeling on sleepless nights all too well.

Oh man I’m so sorry to hear this. I was hopeful because you were quiet so long about it! 😢

I pray that your back gets better after you have surgery. I can feel for you, I have had back problems for like 30+ years but no surgery would help so i have to have shots & meds to help ease the pain but there's times that nothing helps. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis. Thoughts & prayers that you can get some relief soon.

ive had my bottom 3 and now 4 disks pretty well crushed and desicated for around 5 years now. . best thigns ive done are physical therapy and gabapentin. it doesnt take the pain all the way away but makes it to where i can get around and do things. also pace your self dont try and do too much. dont push things too far.

Kip, so sorry to hear your back hasn’t improved. If the operation on your back by NHS is going to be that long, go down the private route even if you have to get finance for it, if it changes your life for the better then it would be well worth it. Wish you the best mate.

So sorry to hear this. Fingers crossed going private gets you seen very soon. Being in pain is desperately miserable. I expect I will be seeing some of your new t-shirts soon in this house 🙂
