Now it has 5 diffirent biomes, 2 new generated structures 3 new mobs, new game mechanics, new armor and tools and you can now mine in nether for ancient debris and its way more diffirent than diamond mining. nether is a big part of minecraft survival now, and its a really fancy part of it

I've ran into a couple of problems while building in the nether. I built a castle in the overworld using a youtube tutorial and desided i wanted to step through the nether portal directly into a version of the same castle made out of nether style materials, like sort of a "stranger things" kind of idea. The first problem was that i started building the castle not realising that light level makes no difference, so i had to stick to very specific blocks for the floors, to keep the skeletons and piglins from spawning right inside my base, which makes it extremely difficult to make the base look aesthetically pleasing. The most obvious solution would be to make the floors out of bottom slabs, but since you can't put anything on top of bottom slabs, like doors or furniture, that would make a lot of weird looking indents in the floors, so i had to stick to blocks like bedrock, glass or dirt path, which leaves little room for creativity and all the blocks that where a full block high, like the crenellations, roofs, tables and window sills all had to be covered with carpets. Given the way nether portals are linked, i had to build my castle in the soul sand valley, otherwise it wouldn't be in the same location, not realising that biome is littered with ghasts, so the next step was to build a 100 cubic meter glass dome around my castle, which thankfully with worldedit only takes one command and replace the entire region inside the dome with dirt path so the ghasts can't spawn in there. And finally the last problem is that i don't know how to naturally farm in the nether as seeds won't grow on farmland, so i had to put lava in trenches and use worldedit to turn it into water.

I tried to explore the cool, new nether today. I barely got out of my portal before I aggroed a piglin, went back for gold armor, came back in, and had to fight three ghasts. And a magmacube while picking up the ghast drops. Finally got to exploring and found a warped forest. Trying to bridge over (very short gap), fell in gap, landed disoriented on ledge, finished off by ghast. Respawn. Come back to get stuff. No ghasts around. Fall back to ledge. Collect stuff. Hear ghast shooting. Dig up and in. Come out. Ghast shooting. Dig up and in. Aggro an enderman. Dig up and in. Lava. Run. No ghasts. Try to climb up terrain. Mobs everywhere. Dig back in. Realize don't know coordinates of tunnel. Stupid. Head in direction that makes large coordinate number smaller. Realize pickaxe is about to break and don't have another. PUNCH NETHERACK WITH HAND. Lava. Run again. At least I have 30 cooked salmon. More netherack punching. An opening. MY PORTAL!!! Why did I ever leave you?!? 💋💗. Run to portal. More ghasts shooting. Don't care. Back home! ...😑... Breathe... Okay, so I will go to the nether again. Yes, I will. But not for a while. I have three ghast tears, that should last me a long time. I do have a bridge to that warped forest now, sort of, so I'll probably try to use it. Sometime. But I will wear better armor, bring my wither fight bow (not the rabbit-hunting one), write down the coordinates of my portal and be prepared for a million ghasts. TL:DR- I checked out the "cool, new" nether only to get attacked by piglins, ghasts, an enderman, lava, and magmacubes; get killed, get lost, use up all my gold on gold armor repair, and come back with three ghast tears and NOTHING ELSE USEFUL. I'm going to bed. 😑

The only value in building a base in the nether is that there aren't any phantoms to attack you. Other than that, building in the over world is in every way superior. You mentioned the danger of mob spawns at night but, at least, they don't spawn during the day while all mobs spawn constantly in the nether. You talked about using a respawn anchor being better than a bed because "you don't have to sleep in it every night." But you never actually have to sleep in a bed to set your respawn. And you can place dozens of beds in the over world and set your respawn point at any one that you like whenever you want. And beds don't consume glowstone to work. And the greatest drawback to a nether base is the lack of water. No lakes/rivers/ponds to go fishing in. No using water to save yourself from a fall. No saving yourself from burning to death. No turning lava into obsidian to make exploration safer or to collect as a building material. No farms that use water. No item sorters. No bubble columns or water elevators. None of that wonderful stuff. Plus, it's impossible to use a beacon in the nether. And the ever-present danger of falling into lava and burning to death adds immense stress that takes away from the enjoyment of the game.

This is what I personally think of the biomes. I have them ranked least difficult to most difficult. Warped Forest - Pretty cool looking, in contrast to, say, the Nether Wastes. The only mobs that spawn here are Endermen, and occasionally a Zombie Piglin wanders in as well, making it one of the least dangerous biomes, and it can be very survivable as well, as you can get wood here, allowing a base. Food does require you to go into the Overworld or killing Hoglins, however. Basalt Deltas - A little bit more dangerous. This time there is also only one mob that spawns here, and it can be a little more dangerous, but otherwise easily avoided in my opinion. Magma Cubes can be pretty easy kills in my experience. Just attack them with some timed melee, going forward to swipe a couple and then running back to avoid the jumps. One of the more dangerous features of the biome is that it has no food source, and largely consists of winding, vertical twists and turns while also having small lava ponds spread around. Crimson Forest - Pretty dangerous, requiring you to wear gold to keep Piglins from attacking you, although that gold can be found in the form of ore all around you. This biome contains wood, and a food source, the Hoglin. As such, it is the only biome with a designated food source, and the only one that you can survive indefinitely there unless you somehow bring a couple hoglins to a Basalt Delta, or something. Warped Fungus can be found rarely in this biome, and it can be used to ward off Hoglins, while Piglins can still be pretty dangerous unless you wear gold. Nether Wastes - Dangerous, very dangerous. It contains so many hostile mobs it's ridiculous, however, they all have some tactics which make them easily avoided. Wither skeletons and blazes will spawn in Nether Fortresses, which seem to be most common in this biome, although Bastion Remnants do as well. That makes all 4 Nether ores spawnable in this one biome. Ghasts, magma cubes, and zombie piglins all spawn naturally in this biome, and although magma cubes can be killed quickly, and zombie piglins can just be avoided altogether, Ghasts might not be killed very easily without a tool of range attack and some proper protection. Soulsand Valley - A big, red hot bucket of pure hellfire. Picture this, you're casually killing a skeleton when you see a bastion remnant in the distance. You head for it, but the soulsand makes you slower, so a Ghast spawns and starts fireballing you, creating big craters of blue fire, and you become cornered. Piglins from the Bastion Remnants crossbow you, and so you sprint through the blue fire as fast as possible, trying to put some of it out while you go. You go and kill the Ghast with your Loyalty trident, but then disaster strikes and a hoglin from one of the bastion pens rams you and knocks you into the blue fire, dealing damage twice as fast, all the while the Piglins shoot at you with crossbows and slice you with swords. You see? The number of hazards and hostile mobs, no survivability (No wood or food, because the hoglins that spawn in bastions can't be bred without crimson fungi, and bastions are pretty rare, so...) This biome is just pure dangerous, and most of the mobs rely on range to attack, so you're gonna need to rely on range back. The single hardest Nether biome.

1. The nether experiences an endless night, mobs are a constant problem. In the overworld you can avoid most trouble by simply sleeping regularly. 2. Farming hoglins is more trouble than it is worth and the lack of H2O makes crop farming almost impossible, so it’s very difficult to get food reliably. 3. The vertical terrain may look cool, but it’s very dangerous without a water bucket. 4. The only valid argument in this video 5. Spawnproofing is far more tedious in the nether. In the overworld you just light the area up. In the nether you have to cover everything with transparent blocks. 6. Striders are very slow on land. Boats are better because you can just pick them up. 7. ”You have to sleep every night to respawn” is completely false.

And if you _really_ don't like endermen then stay out of the warped forests, as they are only common there. no way to grow sugarcane no slime coal requires a wither skeleton farm (bones are a pain to get without it too) iron requires an iron farm (so villagers) for lots of other stuff (diamonds for example), you really need/want to get villagers (trading hall) When 1.16 came out, I moved to the nether, just bringing a couple of villagers, some carrots, and a zombie. Built up a decent base and had fun. Also played the nether start challenge. PS: I really wish the respawn anchor worked in any dimension. Hell, I really think they need to rework respawn so if a respawn point gets destroyed/obstructed, it tries to use the one set before that (and the one before that, ect.) It is just a list, not hard.

Toy cat you can make 16 tipped arrows if you empty a single bottle of any potion into a cauldron and then tap on the cauldron? Also instant damage 2 arrows are pretty easy to make through this strategy. Edit you have to tap on the cauldron with 16 or more normal arrows to get this

I feel that they need to add more to the warped forest. Perhaps a food source like shroomberries, which are quite rare but can be farmed. But they give you a side effect of the spectral effect which means mobs can see you from double the distance away for around 45 seconds after you eat one berry.

Tip for people for play on PvP Survival-ish Servers (with a pretty hostile environment): If building a Nether Base, make your roof out of Crying Obsidian, and have a random Crying Obsidian Block be your Respawn Anchor. The bottom textures are the same, so it could help keep your respawn point hidden if people find your base.
