KevDoes Kevin, great work! This year I dropped from a 40 t to a 38 t on my 1X Rival gravel drivetrain. Kept the 11-42 in the back. Mfg’er said that the smaller CR is like putting a 46 on the back. My knees like me better now, and I have old knees! 😎👊🏻 keep on pedaling!

Massive MASSIVE respect to Kevin for his brilliant attitude and for being able to keep up with you two (three) ‘machines ‘. I would definitely need a battery on my bike to do that! Just getting back to this series after work pressures took me away but we’re back in lockdown again and I’m going to binge on the rest of these babies this week in hope, and anticipation of longer and wilder bike tours in 2021 than we were able to do last year.

Ryan, Thank you for your videos and positive nature. I did a solo two month bike tour through New Zealand 26 years ago with my BOB trailer. When the GDMBR was complete I bought all the maps and had plans on doing the ride. Life took over and flash forward to this summer. You inspired me to take on this challenge. It will be in five sections but it will be done on my 60th birthday just a few years from now. This July I outfitted my bike with bike packing gear and trained for the ride. The first section I completed was from Moran Wyoming to Steamboat Springs Colorado. The experience was rewarding, challenging and incredibly beautiful. The Great Basin was incredible, thank you Wyoming. Here I come Montana. Thank you Duzer !!

Great video as always Ryan! That first day for Kevin must have been seriously tough. Never easy to take on a climb that big on a first day of a tour. Kudos to him for keeping up with you guys. And a special kudos to John for hauling some extra stuff for the team. That man has some legs! Any forward motion up a hill is always good, does not matter if its pedalling or walking. I haven't met a cycle tourer who hasn't had to push his bike up a hill or two. Although I suspect that John can challenge that assumption. My mantra up the difficult climbs is from the song Spinning Wheels by Blood, Sweat and Tears, What goes up, must come down". Kind of apt for the occasion of climbing something steep. It also helps to keep me in my rythm of pedalling.

I can relate to the brain saying you can't, and pushing through it. Yes I can. After those moments, those rides become some of my favorite. I just tell myself I can do this for five more minutes, and then I do it again, as many times as needed. or I pick a spot up in the road ahead of me, and say I can make it to that point, once I reach that, I then make a new point.

That’s amazing and I’m sure as you relive this, making this video you agree “You have to do this to really take in all the beautiful things” I’m stuck behind my computer screen for now but I plan to fully immerse myself into riding daily as soon as I can escape work.

I’ve always been impressed with the mileage and elevation numbers you guys rack up day after day. Seeing how hard Kevin was working to keep up shows the strength in him as well as John and yourself. Of course then there’s Mira running circles around all 3 of you lol

Thank you so much for posting your journey, Ryan! I've been going through a rough time the last few months (break up, death in the family) and your videos really help me remain positive. I want to say that you are an inspiration and I hope to someday meet you!

Great segment and incredible adventure, Ryan! Love how you and John supported Kev while he acclimates to the elevation and workload (CLIMBING THE ROCKIES!!!).

Kev has the same mind as me, if it takes two revolutions to cover the same distance as one step then it's easier to walk 😂. My bike is made by Rolls Canardly, it rolls down hills and can hardly get up them. Stay safe.

So could taking a wrong turn be considered a Whammy?! Ok, so you nearly break Kevin then treat him to mosquitoes, cold and rain. Such nice guys. 😆

Ryan Van Duzer Been there, done that, but that’s definitely part of the charm. Trail riding is just a series of rationalizations. Heheh

This video has ruined my day, after watching Kevin I'm now convinced I might need to leave my camp chair at home. I'm not suprised that Ryan and John are beasts on their bikes. Ryan doesn't even drive cars. I will definitely be buying a wahoo bike computer, it seems like everytime I get lost I always have to climb back up a hill.
